Hahahahah he picked Fisichella!! The biggest doormat teammate he had in his life... even BFF Trulli wasn't chosen (because he put up a fight), and apparently when these two were teammates they were best mates.
But he still chose Fisichella, the human embodiment of a doormat. Hilarious.

But Charleze Theron. Excellent answer there. He clearly prefers a challenge in his social life to on the race track.

If you could pick just one sport to play…
FA: Basketball.
Erm. Isn't F1 a sport ?

I think McLaren will probably go for Button, Still has some contract with them and Monaco isn't the place to throw in a young development driver, I'm not even sure who Mclaren even has in their young stable.
Mclaren best chance of scoring points all year is probably Monaco and Alonso won't be there, Don't think Ron would of let this happen.

It's Honda trying to get some value out of Alonso. He'll be driving a Honda powered car that could actually win a race. For the money they're spending on him, they want SOMETHING they can use in a commercial.
Mercedes is using their F1 success here in the states to run ads... Honda is using their Indy cars to push their cars so they've gottem bupkis out of their three year long (possibly half billion dollar*) investment out of it. Good for Alonso anyway, winning Indy isn't as easy as winning Le Mans.
*including sponsoring Alonso's salary

I know i will be keeping a close eye on Indy this year, might possibly even watch it on a live stream, never watched one.
But for Alonso to get the triple crown, I'm with you WB, Indy will be harder than Le Mans.

Let him come and make an arse of himself in Monaco, he could never drive well there anyway. Pfft what would you know! He's a Monaco winner and I'm SURE he's always done well there! Let's see.... 2000: Retired 2001: 7th / 10 Finishers 2002: Retired 2003: DNS (Crashed Saturday and got a boo boo) 2004: 2nd / 9 (Lost to TRULLI!) 2005: BANNED (Naughty BAR!) 2006: 11th / 16 2007: 11th / 19 2008: 11th / 14 2009: 1st / 19 2010: Retired 2011: 3rd / 17 2012: 16th (Failed to Finish) 2013: 6th / 15 2014: 6th / 14 2015: 8th / 17 2016: 9th / 15 Nope, you're right... he sucks

Wow he actually won in Monaco?? Just goes to show, drive around in circles in as many years as you can collecting points, sweet talking journalists and faking a big "Im a nice guy" smile in public, and lightning will strike at least once. Like his WDC.

Yeah, he actually had 3 stand out seasons: 2004 - Finished 3rd to the 2 Ferrari's in WDC. Podium in 10/19 races. Scored most of BAR's points that got them 2nd in WCC. Drove consistently well. 2009 - Won WDC. Gifted WDC thanks to Brawn and Mercedes. 2011 - 2nd in WDC. Beat Hamilton. Made Vettel look foolish in Canada. I think reality is, McLaren would be foolish to put an unknown driver in for Monaco. Love him or hate him, Button is the sensible choice. Meanwhile, back to the Alonso thread, am I the only one who thinks he could actually go out and win this thing?

His teammate was Sato. 2011 - Yes, outscored Lewis who's car broke down twice while leading, got crashed out once while leading. And McLaren was by far the fastest car in Canada, at least Lewis' McLaren was until Button crashed him out. And received no penalty. Then he spun Alonso off as well. Only Vettel was left. Thank goodness Vettel drove of the track or he might've been the third victim. And yes you might be the only one.....I think he's gonna screw up. But let's see how he does.

3 things go in Alonso's favor here:
1) Rookies ca go well. Nigel Mansel, although not winning the Indy 500, still claimed the Indy title in his rookie year showing adaption to oval racing isn't impossible. A rookie, Rossi, won last year. 2) Even Takuma Sato has finished 2nd at Indy, often placing in the top 5 before the last few laps. 3) McLaren will just be the title of the car, it's built by Andretti who have won 2 of the last 3 years.
Of current ACTIVE drivers, only Montoya has 2 of the traditional legs (Indy & Monaco) while Villenueve has 2 legs of the "alternate" (Indy & F1 WDC).

Didn't Danica Patrick finish 4th in the Indy 500? Better finish higher than 4th Alonso!
