Ferrari was such a feared outfit in the early 2000s....man. As a fan of McLaren and both drivers, they were the Agent Smiths to my Neo, the Sauron to my Middle Earth, or...deadly virus to my PC. Simply put, a$$holes worthy of respect. Anyway its so funny to see how far they've fallen. This is an inspired post, perhaps your finest work ever. ...anyway, whatever the outcome you know if Brawn accepts the pleads for help, I hope he gets seriously paid and I'd expect the answer he'll give them, that it will take a number of years to build what Ferrari seeks is the answer they'll be willing to accept. I doubt it though, it's been something they have not accepted over the last decade.

Couple of excerpts from SkyF1Ferrari: What now for F1's iconic team after James Allison's exit? Here it is, in glorious quotes that Ferrari had to bring in Wolf Zimmermann to overhaul the 2014 Ferrari PU and deliver the gains seen in 2015. Because the wins must come next year, not in 2018... rinse, lather, repeat. My prediction hangs on this very sentence.

This is not a situation Ferrari can have for next season." What passion, what entitlement. Alonso and Costa will be chuckling into their cornflakes Talking about passion and a near useless contribution to F1 despite being around longest

Simply put, a$$holes worthy of respect. Anyway its so funny to see how far they've fallen. Thing is that wasnt really Ferrari, it was a self contained unit run by Todt and completely seperate politically or managerial-ly from Maranello. They were protected and insulated from the Ferrari parent and this was why they eventually clashed with Montezemolo who decided to get rid of them all and make the team Italian again Brawn then spawned Merc and took the best Italian from Ferrari who is now the brains at Merc So you could say that you now have both Agent Smith and Neo on your side

Seems like a lot of Matrix references going on in these posts.

Hadn't actually noticed this until today, Ferrari Names Sergio Marchionne as CEO I guess it flew under the radar but Marchionne seems to be wrapping his tendrils tighter around the Ferrari brand. Clearly the goal from the beginning is to not focus on making the profit from the sale of cars but from the brand itself, licensing. The worst thing that could happen to that plan is the Scuderia, the crown jewel of the brand image deeply struggling in the sport it practically owns. Anyone that's likely to buy Ferrari brand eu de toilette isn't going to have their finger on the pulse of the current F1 standings but a protracted period of Ferrari struggling is not something that Sergio is going to be keen on.

He's Arrivabene's boss, was already and now is more so.

The guy is a control freak, and it's just even more pressure for the 'passionate' Arrivabene.
I felt sorry for the guy before the lights went out at Germany, his face was the very definition of stress. Not seen him fisting the air furiously on Lap 1s for some time now.

Arrivabene 2014 Arrivabene 2016 Seems like being the boss of the Scuderia is the only job besides the Precidency of the USA that can give you more gray hairs in a short period of time.

File this under pain management. I can almost see Sergio Marchionne saying "now son, this is going to hurt me more than it hurts you".

The season just keeps getting uglier for Ferrari. Hopefully 2017 will see them accept their predicament and begin a genuine long term rebuild process rather than their seemingly perpetual plans to win next year.
