I'm probably one of the few who's hoping for Vettel to beat Kimi and retire him end of this year or the next. Vettel is definitely not as good as the Fonz or Ham, but he is good. I prefer to see him drive on and lead Ferrari for the next few years and maybe someone else who gives a damn to come and do another Ricciardo while Vettel is the team leader. That would be awesome. And for you guys n gals hoping Kimi can take it to Vettel...kindly wake up. (Feel free to come back and laugh at my face if it actually happens).

I'm with you, I've no horse in this race. But clearly this is a pairing tailored for Vettel. I think Sunday results will lean mostly his way but qualifying results will go almost entirely his way.

I think Ferrari will be behind Vettel...hoping he will be another Schumie.... I won't say German cheats cos some people might not like it... Bernie will be hoping this combo will fill the empty seats at the German GP.... Plus the tricks etc..that Seb has from Red Bull....

I can't say I've ever seen the Ice Man so enthusiastic about a season... ever. Something is up at the Scuderia, and all along I'd been led to belive that Mercedes was stifling competition. Who knew! Anyway, I'd already revised my Ferrari predictions from 4th up to 3rd. Red Bull is perhaps waning, we'll know soon enough.

I'm not a Ferrari fan....Tifosi tripe & all that makes me cringe...but it would be great to see them fighting for the wins. Kimi had Felipe's car last year, so his ride this year should be a lot better.. I find it difficult to like Seb...but he is younger & will do anything to win.. But I really hope he has to work for it... & Kimi isn't riding shotgun... mashing is not his style

The one thing they didn't get rid of at the Scudeia after last season is the arrogance. That's still intact.

One race in and the trash talk is heating up already. Love it.

That takes some BALLZZZ when Bottas wasn't even on track and Massa got screwed in the pitstop! Not to mention the Merc engine hasn't even stretched its legs yet due to the nature of the Melbourne circuit.
Can't wait to see what Williams can really do in Sepang. And then to see Mariozio shut his trap.

As if. Perhaps they can hire a number two driver that can challenge first. Ferrari's record in the last... well for as long as I can remember is not having two cocks in the hen house.

I know, I know. But maybe we give them the benefit of doubt. See how things pan out.

I am so happy for the new Ferrari who look more than confident of challenginging Merc this season. We benefit from the cessation of whining about changing the formula and we also benefit from a Lewis/Nico style battle of peers.
Kimi

Game on!!

I haven't heard the stifling of competition whine all year. As it turns out if you take your head out of your ass and stop pretending that your lack of competitiveness is everyone's fault but your own, you can build a competitive car.

Ive heard the extreme loony Tifosi fringe complain about the last race because Merc were too good, and how its making F1 boring for the rest of the season
happily even the majority of the Tifosi have a bit more pride than that, maybe th loony fringe will start complaining about Kimi being made to lose 3x in a row and act like a number 2, er hold on...... lol
such fun!

It's shocking how at Malaysia the Ferrari fans suddenly stopped ranting about Mercedes killing the sport, how they want the Engines to be fully unfrozen and a plethora of other things to suddenly having hope and saying that "this is why Ferrari are the best and get the most money", how they showed they are the only team capable of taking it to Mercedes bla bla bla.
Now we get to China and Hamilton absolutely obliterates them throughout all of the practice sessions, we get to qualifying and Ferrari still had no chance but a vast amount of Ferrari fans still think they have a real chance in winning...
We get to the race and Mercedes just cruise along, keeping the gap, keeping them out of DRS and they still thought they had a real chance up until Hamilton decided to show their real pace throwing in 3 laps in a row that were 1 second faster.
They could have comfortably beat Ferrari by 30+ seconds back to the same advantage they had in Australia.

Yeah Merc played a real killer hand. After the Malaysia victory and clear parity, even now if they fall behind Merc can simply point to their new wing and new aero updates and suggest that Ferrari try harder to make another mighty leap forward. And with Ferrari boasting about their upcoming updates and their prowess at in season development now they have the hot shot British TD, and ofcourse simply for being Ferrari
And its funny how the Tifosi are not screaming for the rules to be changed anymore to help poor Honda who are a victim of the freeze and that F1 is being killed by Honda not being allowed to compete with Ferrari
As for RBR, its funny how absolutely no one gives a shit, all the Seb fans are now Ferrari fans, so all those ducks are neatly lined up, and Ricc is just about to get toked by Max in the RBR setup
splendid stuff

They didn't show how much they could win by they just kept it looking like they were in trouble. Hamilton showed them that they weren't.

Are Ferrari boxing cleverer than we thought? Will Buxton's articles are always original and thought provoking and this one is no different. Ferrari caught Mercedes napping on strategy in Malaysia, and they tried it again in China but Mercedes were ready this time and pitted Rosberg sharpish. Ferrari knew they were best placed to fight Mercedes, predicting two wins, their first one came quicker than they thought, so are they looking for other ways of tripping up Mercedes. Was it Vetel,he suggests who wound up Rosberg when they spoke before the podium? ..... "Because a divided Mercedes is far easier to beat than one united. After just three races of 2015, the mental fragility which cost Nico Rosberg the championship lead and ultimately the 2014 world title, is in full evidence. Mercedes has already openly stated it will consider splitting strategies and that one of their drivers might have to bite the bullet and accept de facto number two status. And that won’t be Lewis Hamilton.
The world champion was effectively driving around in China with the top down, his arm up on the window, belting out power ballads. In practice he was missing his braking points, miles off apexes and was still comfortably fastest. When he needed to in the race, he turned on the kind of pace which would have put him half way to Bahrain by the chequered flag.
Right now, Lewis Hamilton isn’t Ferrari’s focus. Like any predator, Ferrari is focusing on the weakest member of the pack. They’re playing smart. Very smart. It’s game on."
Read all his article, including much about the impressive way Cumwell is turning Ferrari around here... willthef1journo.wordpress.com/author/willthef1journo/

Buxton is one of the real investigative journalist types out there - very careful and professional. Makes a real refreshing change from the click bait merchants or steak dinnered flunkies writing for the average new Tifosi type F1 fan.
Could have been Seb winding Nico up indeed as Nico seemed fine when he got out the car and got to the room. If he was that hacked off in the press conf, surely he would have been even more steamed in the room. And Seb did sit there in the presser suspiciously uninterested in Nicos blow up apart from a few smirks
The thing Will doesnt mention is the 100mill Ferrari are said to have injected since last season above and beyond all the regular budget and handout, that could keep Happyclimax in good odour with his staff with xmas and easter handouts
