OMYGOD! Just watched the first motoGP. We don't get it live in the UK, well not on a station I get. In Moto GP, Rossi is my Lewis!! I love him! AND HE WON!!!! BRILLLLLLIANT!!! He was superb. Started about eigth, dropped to tenth and came through to win , and he's 36 years old! Still whupping those whippersnappers! It was Italians one two three.
Another thing to note is how the Ducatti's have come on. Divitsioso nearly won on the Ducatti.
The Repsol Hondas doesnt look so strong this year, so it will be interesting to see what Marques can do. He went off near the beginning today and was last but still caught up to finish 5 th. Some excellent Moto GP racing ahead this year!!!,

I just watched that on Ch 24 at 8pm....it was amazing And before that on Ch 2 at 7pm...Racing Legends....Barry Sheene....was brilliant, even though it was a repeat, & I'd seen it before. I mean't to start a thread 'Motorsport on TV'...or something...that we could put stuff on..(Pref before it has been televised :-)
Formula E this Saturday April 4th...live on Ch 24 11pm til 0130..from Long Beach California

Well I didn't know that!!! Stoner asked Honda if he could replace Danni Pedrosa while he undergoes an arm operation. Honda didn't take him up on his offer, they have someone else to stand in.
Sounds like qualifying for the moto GP was an exciting affair. Marquez set provisional pole and returned to the pits, he then couldn't restart his bike, eventually he did and went out on track right at the end of the session but his bike slowed on track and stopped. Marquez jumped over the pitwall and ran for his second bike, by this time he'd tumbled to 7th place. He crossed the line with seconds to spare and he claimed pole.
brilliant brilliant by Rossi!!!! Watched the race last night. The old fox still has it!! 36 years old and leading the championship despite some very talented and very young opposition. What a star!!!! I love Rosssi!!!!!!!!!!!!( cloud nine smilie)
ROSSI!!!!!!!!!!!! You old goat! GOAT( Greatest Of All Times) I really think he is!
I just watched the highlights of the Moto GP at Silverstone, sadly I can't get it live. It was wet . Marques fell of and Lorenzo was only forth. ROSSI WON!! Rossi is thirty six years old and is still beating the field. Marques is only 22, a stunning new talent, I think he's great, but he hasn't got the measure of Rossi yet. GOAT.

About to watch highlights of Moto Gp. ROSSI knocked off Marques but I think Marques is playing games to help Lorenzo.and now rossi has to start the last race from back of grid so that hands the championship to Lotenzo. ( I don't like Lorenzo) . I like ROSSI best of all but IAlso like Marques. But if Marques is going to start psychological gaming with ROSSI he will find himself on the losing side. Anyway. Not seen the race yet. But history was already starting between the two of them before the race

But Rossi left the stewards no choice there. He shouldn't have looked over at Marquez twice like that, instead just keep looking straight and slide out wide to get the same result and drive off. And say "I went wide, sue me". Everyone still knows its deliberate but its not obvious.
Now it's a free ride for Lorenzo to the WDC. Marquez did his job.

I disagree Hammer. I've now watched the race and Marques was being an idiot throughout. He's pissed because Rossi has had the better of him during a few incidents this year. He interfered with the title and there's an unwritten rule that you don't do that. If you watch the race Marques made several dangerous moves that could have taken ROSSI out. I think when Rossi looked across he was trying to say 'pack it in' . Lots of riders agree with ROSSI, I'll try to find some quotes, not the arsehole who is Lorenzo of course. So does Vettel, he agrees with Rossi.
I used to like Marques , he was my second favourite but he acted like a kid in that race and now ive gone off him. After this he can expect to be booed thought the world except in Spain. And if he thinks he'll get the better of Rossi in the game playing department he should think again. Rossi is the master. He's just lost the championship for Rossi, I wouldn't like to be him next year!
there are some views of riders here after it happenned, at the end of the article. You can ignore Stiner's because he had history with Rossi.

Umm RC, Marquez did nothing wrong in the GP. Yes he made a few very close and risky moves, but these risky moves happen in nearly every Moto GP race especially towards the end of GPs. I watched the battle about 4-5 times now and everytime I see it I can't see how Rossi is blameless. Marquez provoked him, but he did nothing illegal, Rossi did.
Rossi did a few blatant 'unnatural' moves: 1) Look across 2-3 times while defending position 2) Run extremely wide until Marquez would've been forced to leave the track to stay on his bike 3) The little 'kick out' at Marquez which COULD have contributed to Marquez going down
3 is iffy, since people are saying Rossi's leg slipped when he made contact with Marquez. But bad timing or not, Rossi contributed to it while going wide that way. I really really REALLY wish Rossi still gets his 10th but Marquez played very annoying yet effective game and Rossi fell for it. I don't like Marquez to start with even before this race happened, so it sucks having to write this post.

Ok I'm now going into fangirl mode, I can feel it brewing up.
He looked across to tell him to pack it in. To call him off. He was sick of his games. He was interfering in the championship on behalf of Lorenzo, and not for the first time. Rossi knew this.
Marquez didn't take ROSSI off, but he easily could have done with some of his marginal/ dangerous moves. And if he had then he would have done something wrong. He only didn't because ROSSI stayed on.
It's just that ROSSI is better at staying on than Marques. How many times has Marques fallen off this year? Loads.
Anyway ive gone off him now . His smiley face is false and I can't wait to hear him booed everywhere he goes. ( except Spain)
What is it with Spaniards? lorenzo Espargaro brothers Gibernau
Now Marques has joined the ranks. I thought he was different. Alonso was in there for a while too, he's clawing himself out.
But we'd agree to disagree on this. IMO it doesn't matter how many times Marquez irritated/impeded Rossi in the past, we're talking about the current race and Rossi let his feelings get the better of him. In terms of on track sporting conduct, Rossi crossed the line. Marquez is entitled to 'assist' whoever he feels like as long as he respects racing regulations. And yeah I saw a couple of very close calls but that's racing. Rossi should've tried to pull away, but he couldn't because his bike was not up to it, it's clear to see. A more intelligent thing to do would be to keep racing Marquez/pull away/ or hang back like a pu$$y and collect some points (which is Button-esque but still better than what happened).
Now he's all but lost the WDC. And will Marquez "learn his lesson" and not impede him again? I think not!! I expect even more fireworks in not only the final race, but next season as well!
P.S. Alonso is not clawing himself out, he's dug himself a deeper coffin and staying in it all alone which is why he suddenly looks nice, don't be fooled.
2019 - The year Mercedes knocks Ferrari off their perch.
Oh there'll be fireworks alright. You don't tangle with Rossi and expect to get away with it. You don't want to get burnt? Don't play with fire.
If ROSSI had fallen off when Marques did those dangerous moves ( this race I mean) he would have been deemed to have crossed the line. Many believe Marques did cross the line. The thing is, whenMarques was close to Lorenzo, he didn't behave like that. If Rossi had held back, so would Marques have done. ROSSI knew this from previous races. Marques wanted Lorenzo to win and he interfered. He wanted Lorenzo to win because he's Spanish. And I think he also wanted Lorenzo to win to stop Rossi getting another title so that he can accumulate more than Rossi through his carreer. Well Marques wants fun and games with Rossi he'll get it. Rossi is no Button and will be intimidated by no one. He is loved the world round ( except Spain ) and Marques will now be hated. That little boy cutey cute smile had been seen through. He lost Rossi a championhip . He'll pay for that times over.
Fuck I feel like kicking Marquez in the face right now. The entire race, just sitting behind Lorenzo's exhaust, didn't even ATTEMPT a single move the entire race, Dani Pedrosa was 2.5s behind these two with 5 laps to go, and Dani managed to catch and OVERTAKE Marquez the little bitch, but Marquez simply delayed himself and Dani so the Backstreet Boy could get a comfortable Championship. What a little BITCH. Couldn't eve nmake a move for Honda, didn't he realize it was a Yamaha ahead of him?? Goddamn cheap WDC, titled Lorenzo & Little Bitch Marquez VS Legend-tino Rossi. Last to 4th without breaking a sweat.
2019 - The year Mercedes knocks Ferrari off their perch.
I've not watched it Hammer. I was going to watch the highlights but I really don't think I want to. He is a little bitch, Rossi was right all along, he knew what he was up to the last three races. Marquez was pissed because Rossi got the better of him several times this year. Well Marky boy, better get used to that because it will becoming times over next season. And he better get used to being booed a lot, everywhere he goes.
That was Rossi's championship, he deserved it, would have had it easily without the penalty, would have had it easily without Marques silly little games.
