And Alonso skilfully shows how to take over a team and create a Massa out of your teammate. Galvanise the team around himself, create a happy bubble, assume moral leadership, charm the engineers and staff - without buying a single steak dinner or selling his arse Oh but what a master craftsman this Fonz is, Buttkiss shoulda quit last year, he will be at the lowest point of his whole career reputation wise after a season with Alonso.

It's interesting that both Alonso and Button tried their 'games' on Hamilton, Button aided and abetted by the wet team manager, Alonso......well,he was just Alonso. Neither of them ultimately benefitted from their tactics because Hamilton's skill negated their attempts. Out of it all, Alonso and Lewis have a great respect for each other. Neither seem to have a great deal of respect for Button.

Alonso came along from 2xWDC and Ron still made him earn the right to be number 1 by dominating the rookie Buttocks came along on the back of a fake WDC and had his sugar daddy turn everything over to him in return for some unspeakable 'benefits' Alonso walked out of pride, Lewis walked in indignation and disbeleif as did Paddy, the faker had no shame and no issues with destroying a team by presiding over their descent from top of the podium to back of the grid - no shame or integrity, no pride, begged to be kept on etc I cannot believe whats happened to this team - even the name McLaren, up there with Player, Walker, Brabham, Senna as F1 fabric Murdered by a

They say it all comes out in the wash. And finally out it seems to be coming. It takes some a while, and some will never remove the blinkers. But I think Jens has overplayed his hand this time. He's on a one year contract isn't he? I could almost start to feel sorry for him. Then I just have to remember how he and Whimarsh wrecked Mclaren and tried to wreck Lewis and all sympathy goes.

Too much of the smooth, steak dinner disturbing 'team leader' drivers?

I love this stuff, this here guy is worth 5 Horners, 200 Twitmarshes and at least 3 Bernies when it comes to leadership, integrity, commitment and focus instead 2 faced double speak, dishonest twatspeak.

Fighting talk. Well he's done it before, big time, and there's every chance he will again .

It's been a painful year. Next year's Honda engine will be not only pivotal but front and center to any progress made. I think we won't see them on the top step of the podium until (if and when) the new regulations are introduced for 2017. I was massively disappointed in the shit they pulled with Hamilton in Spa in 2012.
Not sure how much of that was due to Whitmarsh and how much of that was due to Dennis but they purposely threw a very good chance at a championship away in 2012 and have been trying to catch up ever since... and that situation has been entirely of their own making.

That stuff pissed me off big time! And much as I have a great respect for Ron,that was a despicable act. If he was in a position to influence, then he shouldn't have been making emotional decisions like that . He must surely be rueing that now.

I'm glad for all that shit that happened, otherwise we'd have a 1x WDC in Hamilton celebrating coming in 10th in Silverstone this year.

Yes. It's amazing how things that seem awful at the time can sometimes turn out to be for the good.

I always felt that the whole incident was a little strange, Ron suddenly turning on his protege to boost Twitrashes toyboy. And turning on him in a way that forced him to tweet the truth and have no option but to leave - which ultimately left Twitmarsh in the Lewisless (and sponsorless and winless) position that led to Ron being begged to replace Twatfarce
Is Ron that calculating and ruthless? you decide, but it did smell of a classic slash and burn scorched earth tactic - if the team had won in 2012, chances are the closest Ron would ever get back to the boardroom was waiting outside for instuctions
Anyway, the end result was Lewis overcoming his loyalty issues to end up in a 6 year spell in the dominant car whislt the beneficiaries of Spa 2012 are currently playing 'hello sailor' and 'i have no grip and I am scared for my life' at the back of the grid

With all the excitement of the weekend, I forgot to bring this up. I think I've said enough on the why/how. Since 2012 we've been waiting for that title sponsor announcement, who knew at the time the damage would run so deep? This last bit of the quote is inflammation beginning to take hold in the situation.

Its a bit rich correlating the lack of sponsorship with Hondas engine, considering the team were shown in no uncertain terms a couple of years ago that they were not attractive to any premium sponsors.
Nope it seems that the dice Ron has been rolling is not loaded in any way. I thought they would have some kind of Earthdream deal with Honda, with Honda reselling space to its Jap associate brands. But it looks like Honda are a straight engine partner, and a works deal that could get doluted a bit when they take on more customers and integrate them into the design pocess
It seems Honda and McLaren have different time horizons - like RBR and Renault, for Honda its better they take more time and get it right at some point, as they are already invested and their return is not so reliant on success but on paying customers
Lets see how Ron steers this ship over the next year or so

I bet they reset that clock in 2017. We should have a clock for Bottas and Lemony's fantastical claims.

Very funny but grossly unfair, considering Mclaren Honda were not in business for 21 of the last 22 years since the last victory lol

I'd have to agree, just in case Porsche comes back and partners with McLaren.
