So the rumor mill has it that Ricciardo is being looked at for a Ferrari seat next year.
Oy vey Vettel, oy vey.
...and on some completely unrelated news

I think Daniel is pretty much stuck at Red Bull contract wise for 2016 and it seems RB will do everything to make sure that Daniel remains one of their drivers next year unfortunately.

I worry that if he stays at Redbull for much longer his stock will fall, and he will end up being another lost potential like Nico Hulkenburg.

I'm surprised with what's happening at Redbull. Kyvat is pretty good, but Ricciardo really kicked some a$$ last year and now he's struggling to put away Kyvat convincingly.
Maybe Kvyat should head over to Ferrari and partner Vettel, that might really get Vettel to hire a couple of shrinks.

It was really unfortunate for Ricciardo today. He went for the gap, that's what racers do. It cost him any possibility of a result but I can't blame him trying to gain that position at the start. I think Massa has a history of poor peripheral awareness and simply downright not backing out for anyone. Part of the experience Daniel needs now is to know when to hold them and know when to fold them.
The incident today reminded me of Lewis/Massa 2011 every other race. If Red Bulls gain parity with Ferrari's engine for 2016, I know he'll be back on the podium likely ahead of both of the red cars.

Daniel did the the right thing in going for it, Massa did jinx over unnecessarily, and whats there to lose, he is in a under powered car and the team is on the brink of leaving the sport and potentially without a drive next year, might as well go it for.

It was great seeing Daniel fight at the front yesterday. He's a racer through and through and a joy to watch. Shame not to have him in a competitive car. Hopefully whatever happens at Red Bull next year will bring all of the teams closer to Mercedes. Their Chassis is phenomenal with maybe 30 or 40 more HP, they'd be making Ferrari fight for third in the constructors instead of looking like a real challengers to Mercedes. As if.

I find the little piece very worrying for myself, for goodness sake Daniel, DON"T DO IT!!! Motorsport.comDaniel Ricciardo says he is open to a future in America if Red Bull ends up having to leave Formula 1 after this season.
Red Bull is still facing an uncertain future as it has no engine for the 2016 season, with Ferrari and Mercedes having decided against a deal with the Milton Keynes team.
Honda has said the door is open for a deal, but McLaren is against the move, leaving Renault as Red Bull's only option, even though the team had earlier decided to part ways with the French manufacturer after a difficult season.
With no competitive seats available for next year, should Red Bull quit, Ricciardo could find himself without a drive. NASCAR Sprint Cup star Dale Earnhardt Jr wrote on Twitter earlier this week that Ricciardo would have a drive available for him in any road course Xfinity series race if he wanted it. The Australian remains confident he will be in F1 next season, but admitted Earnhardt Jr's invite was tempting. "If not, Dale Jr invited me to do a NASCAR race next year, so I might take that up if I don't have an F1 seat," joked Ricciardo in Mexico. "I like America a lot, so to live in America and race, still post-F1, could be interesting. "Obviously I want to make sure I'm here next year, but if for whatever reason I'm not, it sounds like I might have an option."
If Ricc can't get a drive in f1, I would rather see him in Indycars, I can live with that and follow Indycars on a full time basis and follow F1 part time until he returns or something, I don't know F1 justs really sucks at the moment for me and if Ricc don't get a drive for 2016 its gonna suck so hard next year.

Respect to Mark, that takes some balls, honesty and humility to admit that.

Love to see him at Ferrari when Kimi is out. Seb wouldn't love that so much.

This has put a dampener on my Sunday morning
Paddocktalkf1 2016 F1: Marko to block Ferrari switch for Ricciardo
Red Bull has completely ruled out suggestions it faces losing Daniel Ricciardo at the end of the year.
After the similar rumours of 2015, a potential move to Maranello for the affable Australian was put back on the agenda this week by countryman and 1980 world champion Alan Jones.
But Dr Helmut Marko quickly dismissed it, saying Ricciardo's contract for 2017 is "watertight".
That, however, did not stop the paddock banter, leading to an embarrassing moment for Ricciardo in the FIA press conference when Sebastian Vettel tried to put red cap on his former teammate's head.
But Red Bull team boss Christian Horner said in Melbourne: "He's under contract. The contractual situation we have with Daniel is extremely clear."
And Marko reiterated to the Austrian news agency APA: "Ricciardo has a long-term contract."
However, team owner Dietrich Mateschitz said recently that if a driver really wants to leave Red Bull, as Sebastian Vettel did two years ago, he will not stop him.
Marko explained: "Vettel had a clause that he can go if a certain performance is not achieved. Ricciardo does not have this clause.
"We built Daniel up and did not give him all of that support so that he can beat us in a Ferrari. This is not charity."

Just want to say I hope Ricciardo is the next new World Champion on the grid. Love his tenacity and the fact that he's not afraid to go for it no matter how small the chance. His lunges at Vettel in Spain was the highlight for me, he's probably the most (if not more) daring racer alongside Lewis on the grid today.
A Lewis-Dani partnership would be a Merc dream team.

And yet Vettel whines on the radio about the move, unbelievable! At least Dan had a go and not hold station like many other drivers would. Even Brundle on Sky said "c'mon quiet Sebastian" or something like that. Anyway I like his Dan's response at the end of the this video with "Typical"

I posted the same in the Vettel thread. I like Ricciardo on and off the track, if only he had a drive in a less pusillanimous team.

LOL if he goes anywhere it's to Mercedes, Ferrari won't take him because Vettel will not want him there.
