What's scary is Senna was no where near done either...
Surely, based on these sort of statistics and thinking Hamilton is better than Alonso? I personally can't pick whos better I just know they're both fantastic drivers.

Senna and Hamilton are my standout drivers. I rate them as my top two. I used to gat slated for even suggesting there was a comparison to be made , but I could see it in their style even when Hamilton was a rookie.
I rate both above Shumacher, there was a lot abot Schumacher I disliked, but I can't deny he was something special.
Going back beyond Senna and I find it really hard to make comparisons with drivers from those eras and today. I didn't watch those drivers and the cars were so different. Moss, Clark, Stewart, Fangio, Nuvorali, Villeneuve. I suspect those would have been the ones I'd be wearing T shirts for.

These ex drivers change their opinions like other people change their knickers! I think with some of them they can't acceot someone's coming along who could be better than they were. It takes them a while for that to compute, years, and when the penny drops they accept it . Johnny Herbet in my view is the glaring exception.

yeah Johnny Herbert is a real breath of fresh air amongst the 'ex driver turned pundit cos too useless to do anything else' brigade
I really rooted for JH as a driver and he is by far my fave commentator - he has his head physically seperated from his rectum

JH is so camp, it's adorable. He seems a pretty fun guy to be around and usually interprets things during races perfectly where as other commentators are hit and miss.

Johnny Herbert was the first driver/steward to stop the rot when Masha was continually crashing into Lewis to help the Fonz. He got it right & blamed Massa. I don't know how many times it happened starting with Monza 2010.., although Lewis was going a gap...there was no need to make contact & break his steering arm...with the Ferrari tank.... It is good to visit sites where I have argued that LH is the best & compared him to Senna.....I don't post I just read posts & quietly enjoy Lewis being 'Up where he belongs'......(love that song...)

Sennas sister said Lewis was the one driver that reminded her of her brother
I always reckoned that was a good indicator to go along with the stats and facts some are willing to acknowledge

I remember that , at the Autosport awards, she said Lewis was the one who reminded Her most of Ayrton , " as a pilot and a man" . Moved Lewis to tears.

Yeah good point, I forgot about that with Herbert stopping that. It was nuts how many times they came together that year. It was weird how Hamilton was getting the penalties and warnings when it was clear in 75% of them that he wasn't at fault, some were racing incidents and some were clearly Massa's fault. Sennas sister said Lewis was the one driver that reminded her of her brother I always reckoned that was a good indicator to go along with the stats and facts some are willing to acknowledge That's pretty sweet of her, Lewis does make me think of Senna because of his style, passion and agression. They both had and have extreme passions for the sport and drive with emotion.

This is nice from Lewis, I didn't see it on the tele, maybe I just missed it. Watch the clip, it's only a couple of seconds.

Oh right. Thanks Ry Ry. It was just Lewis clapping Vettel and giving him a thumbs up at the end of the last GP as he came past

Makes sense that Lewis is even more optimistic about Ferrari than their management. Lewis reckons Ferrari are now at least as fast as Mercedes. We know Ferrari increased their spending since last season by 100 mill (on top of the normal budget of 300 mill plus the free 90 mill from Bernie) - which is enough to keep Marrusia, Caterham , Hrt, Sauber, Findia AND Lotus on the grid.
And with a 4x WDC plus Kimi, this practically means Ferrari are the favorites for both titles, they cannot go wrong surely
No wonder Lewis is so happy for Seb

More respect for Alonso, and a subtle Seb (and Nico) takedown for good measure
No Lewis, it would be down to his machismo and pride and sense of entitlement as well as a lot of karma mixed in. Funnily enough it would be Lewis that did the most to prevent Alonso winning 4 WDCS in a row

A bit more Lewis stuff, including the bit you mentioned Cookie. Also mentions the contract And whilst it doesn't sound like there's a problem, it does sound like there's a little sticking point, I wonder hat that is? www.bbc.com/sport/0/features/32235539
