I cant believe that a 4xWDCs thread hasn't even made it to two pages.....
(ok, I can believe it)
edit: wouldn't you know it - the post that comments about this thread not being two pages long, makes the thread two pages long!

Ferrari's last three new driver signings have all been WDC. Wonder why they'll bring on to accompany Vettel next year. This thread is sure to grow.

To be fair, Red Bull's young driver program has been second to none.

I'd forgotten what Vettel names this year's first drive at Ferrari so I had to check. It was Eva.

Again, I really like Vettel this year. Sky did a fluff piece with him on Sunday. When he was talking about himself and his personal life, he seemed so relaxed and VERY funny. It wasn't until they started to talk about Ferrari that he got a bit corporate.
I like his personality more than Hamilton's.
But personality doesn't win races.

How come there are not half a dozen stories in the trade rags and sites decrying Vettel's performance this weekend? How come there's no one saying how he acted like a petulant child questioning his team's tire choice? How come every other post isn't saying how his drive around the circuit was reckless, unsafe and a danger to those around him?
I ask these questions not because I think Vettel had a shitty weekend. All driver's do from time to time. He was frustrated from the beginning, expecting to be closer in qualifying and the frustration turned into desperation after the start of the race. During the race he vehemently blamed Ricciardo for the incident even though later after having watched the video he walked it back. Every driver has a bad day. Vettel is third in the championship and he's there with just as much right to the claim as Ricciardo had last year. Someone to be in the right place at the right time to pick up a win should Mercedes falter.
Vettel is one of the driver's that has garnered number one status from his team, he's clearly been the better of the pairings so why should he? But he's had the good fortune of racing for teams that have no qualms about driver preference.
I post this only to show that there is a huge chasm in the way certain drivers are treated, and just like in the stewarding decisions all we're looking for is some consistency. I don't blame the drivers, I blame their extremely hypocritical fans for lacking that constancy.
Enjoy the rest of the season, enjoy the winter off and let's try to start with a clean slate and a new attitude next year shall we?

If I were an...sigh... F1 driver during driver briefings/meals I see myself sitting next to Vettel instead of Mr Bling & Dog.

you like his personality better than Hamilton's ? Yeah he's funny off track, good sense of humour, but have you forgotten the finger days? The screaming in the radio? The cuckoo signs to Webber? The multi 21? All gone? Clean wiped from the memory? I've never seen Hamilton do cuckoo signs at Rosberg even when he's taken him out of the race. And I would DEFINATELY be sitting next to Lewis and petting his dog, and maybe getting an invite to go dancing at a street carnival.......rather than listening to Vettel be funny in a Bavarian bear cellar. I can't believe you two. You've been listening to the haterz for so long Youre turning into them.

The thing about Seb is that he is a very clever guy indeed. He has had a couple of years to project this image of easy going, humble etc. This coincides with getting whipped by Ricc and not having the 2 sec car anymore. Does a leopard change its spots? Has he suddenly become a reasonable person or is it all part of a big campaign to erase the past. Lets not forget the amount of booing he got when he was winning and had no need to pretend. Lets not forget what he did to Webber, the finger, the balls in the pool and other things. So now he is a good guy because he appears that way in interviews and we assume he would b the same when the cameras are off? Likely having a drink with him would be a blast till you spilled his drink or upset him, then he would revert to the Bieberism. With Lewis you already know what you get, as long as you dont accept a lift back home at 3 in the morning there should be no surprises Nah I would wait to see if the finger reappears the moment he wins again ..errr what was that??? it did reappear?? Imagine being stuck in a bierkeller with him and having the finger waved in your face each time his glass is empty before yours, and being forced to sing Deutschland Deutschland uber al alles

Yes, I saw him say that. You have to hand it to Vettel, in those situations he's quick witted. He's run rings round Rosberg a few times this year in press conferences. Lewis usually just sits there grinning. Lol.

It was so awkward when he made the joke in the press conference and even Vettel felt awkward after saying it.

Apparently there have been restrictive rules for a decade that have prevented Ferrari from being competitive, which is why they have been so poor every single year.
In fact its only since the new Hybrid regulations that they have cemented 2nd place, because the hybrid regs have prevented other teams from staying ahead of Ferrari
So Ferrari are only in second (their best placing in almost a decade) because the hybrid rules held back the teams like Lotus, Red Bull, McLaren and Williams who usually beat them in the V8 era

We're very caught up with overtaking in the sport. A great defense makes (IMO) for the best racing. This one never gets old.
