Yeah, they're in complete understanding of where things are falling short. So far so good. You can't fix something if you don't understand the why or how it's broken.

It certainly looks like they've got the right ideas.

I really like how liberty has got Ross Brawn involved, The future of F1 looks more brighter than it once did.

Seriously, you guys remember not too long ago Bernie was alleged to be pruning Horner as the guy he'd pass the baton to.
I think we're getting the best possible outcome from Bernie's demise that we could have possibly gotten.

These guys are serious and they are long term about what they're trying to do here. This level of analysis as to what areas to focus on is textbook market study. Nothing Bernie would have even thought to initiate. On a side note, this is the reason the sport was dying, no one picture illustrates the insanity the little Troll unleashed upon the sport in the last 15~20 years.

I'm liking all I hear about this new company so far, with one small proviso. I hope they don't make it too glitzy and razzmatazz and thus detract from what they have.

"The last one is the race experience, I think creating a better race experience that engages the fans, the spectators there [at the track] and on television, is a huge opportunity." Did someone say Formula e Fan Boost?

Brawn wants to take away DRS, I think the only fan boost he'd support is for the fan in the ceiling.

Much to the chagrin of *some* Lewis Hamilton is indeed running F1 at the moment.

Spotted this on twitter........I didn't even know the take over of F1 by Liberty was being investigated by the EU.
The European Union competitions commission has rejected calls for it to investigate the sale of #F1 to Liberty Med… twitter.com/i/web/status/8…

One of the things I read recently about Liberty Media that Brawn is working on is... WiFi at the circuits. Imagine that. If there was WiFi access, F1 would be more likely to have people purchase bundles where they could get in car camera view, telemetry, use the F1 app.

After this weekend's COTA and the Breast Cancer Awareness joint PR thing (let's leave discussion of that elsewhere please) I started thinking about what's they've been doing this year. Really the first year they get to drive after Bernie's banishment. We've had the London "show" and that was received well by fans and the media a like, we've got a much friendlier YouTube policy and their very own channel with actual activity on it; But this post is about HBO with Bryant Gumble released this in depth interview with Lewis Hamilton and it was perfectly timed with the weekend's race at COTA, certainly not by coincidence. Anyone that doesn't know the show's brand and style, it's a very thinking man's sports show that talks about the industry the mega stars and has journalistic credibility. Taking on previously taboo topics such as concussions in football, betting in sports and steroid and drug use. The fact that they got Lewis Hamilton to feature into a Real Sports with Briant Gumble episode is unprecedented. I think we'll see the sport develop in short order, maybe into something that not everyone will like, I'm cautiously optimistic, but I know where they'd want to wind up in order to make the most money from their purchase. I'd rather not go there, but regardless they are clearly trying to make an impact in what's a completely untapped market, the USA. In Hamilton they're pushing the "brand" they think will sell. Hell, the even ran an ad for Motorsport.com during the F1 race this weekend. Unheard of before, so they're trying to push. Let's see where it goes.

More Liberty Media tinkering... IMO, the F1 logo is the one thing in the sport I'd love to keep perpetually. Three trademark applications registered today with the European Union Intellectual Property reveal the possible changes to the current design. The applications were submitted by Formula One Licensing BV.

Pretty clear indication of where Liberty wants to take F1 from a marketing direction standpoint. I think this is going to polarize some, but I like this, it's fresh, it's young, it feels exciting.

But I wish they hadn’t dumped the grid girls. Grid kids ...jeez! So women can’t be ‘exploited’ despite being of an age to decide whether they want to be a grid girl, someone else has to make that choice for the little woman. But it’s fine to use kids Okay. That’s one of my political inputs used up.........I’m limiting myself you’ll be pleased to know. 😁

I'm with you on the grid girl thing racechick it's not like it's a strip club and IMO the grid girls have always been a great way to showcase of the local heritage, dress and flavor.

Blick claims the decision to stop using grid girls in F1 came from above Chase Carey: the call apparently came from Liberty Media president and CEO Greg Maffei whose wife Sharon objected to the practice after seeing it first hand during last year's United States Grand Prix. Blame her.
