*Amounts In USDNow, I could be wrong and missed some of the drivers with options to extend, but DAMN 2018 looks like it'll be a free-for-all in the driver market! Guess it's going to make 2017 a "prove your worth" year for many out there!

That's really interesting!
Flicking down the list quickly, Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen look like bargains to me. And I'm pretty good at spotting a bargain!

I thought I read that Massa's salary was being picked up by Mercedes since they needed him to come back in order to secure Bottas. I believe I'd read 5 million for him which was one of the reasons Williams had to let him go, they couldn't/wouldn't afford his salary.

Lol Alonso cost the team $100 million years ago for nothing, and now milking them dry to run half the laps in races. With a car that can't finish races, you just need two midfield drivers to keep it on track and get points, not a double champ who think he's the best thing since sliced bread. I'd poach Romain and Massa (like 2 years ago), even after doubling up their current salary, its like you've got yourself a title sponsor already.
Sometimes I think a few of us here would be better businessmen than current McLaren management.

I thought I read that Massa's salary was being picked up by Mercedes since they needed him to come back in order to secure Bottas. I believe I'd read 5 million for him which was one of the reasons Williams had to let him go, they couldn't/wouldn't afford his salary. Massa was on $5m but took a pay cut on this 1yr contract. Mercedes may very well be covering it, I know they had to payout the remainder of Bottas' contract. Regarding McLaren, I believe that Honda are paying a significant part of Alonso's salary. McLaren aren't stupid when it comes to money, They would probably have actual expenses around the same as Red Bull when it comes to Drivers + Engine. I also don't think they are in as bad a situation as it appears at first glance. The ERS is running out far too soon, meaning they are around 11-15km/h down on speed compared to other teams, yet there qualifying times have been within 1s of 7th. I've put more info on this in the McLaren team thread.
