I'm thinking Mercedes is struggling with an overweight car, they simply don't have enough spare weight to properly ballast the corner weights. It's the only thing that makes any sense and they've been struggling with it all year.

That was super amazing, the exchange on the radio between Alonso and Button.

Well Mercedes do know what the problem is with Hamilton's car but they couldn't change it in parc ferme.
This race so far is very boring, shitty aero regs, the only overtakes have been at the start, backmarkers being overtaken, retirees being overtaken.

Why are drivers forgetting to turn the stearing wheel? Just going straight on into the wall.

blah blah blah well done Ferrari & Seb.
* Seeing Hamilton's pace, they should have run Q2 on SS tyres. * Renewing my "Monaco has to go as a championship race" call. * Glad Pascal is ok. The gap kinda was there, but was never going to not have some contact. * More so for Perez / Kvyat * Did I say how much I dislike this track? * Great job from RBR.
Let's get back to real races now that Sochi and Monaco are done and dusted. Still a LONG way to go in 2017.

racechick it was because the track was breaking up and causing a loss in traction suddenly. A very boring race really, there was 1 legitimate overtake of Perez overtaking Stroll (not hard lol)

Nico is a pussy, at least Kimi accepts being number two driver because it's in the contract. Anyone picking Raikkonen for the win? Seriously guys? Not a bad showing for Red Bull, they were the only threats in the race, Great strategy calls. I have to say that with the new regs, it is impossible to overtake in this circuit and although I love the glitz and glamor of it all it has no value in today's F1 with the regs as they are. Sainz showed a great drive, and Stoffel Vandoorne schooled Jenson, McLaren might as well have told Jenson to stay at home and saved themselves the expense and embarrassment of Button. The highlight of his races was Alonso waking up early to phone him asking him to please not screw up his car. As for Kimi, you know what you signed up for so at least enjoy the paycheck!

Good drives from Vettel, Ricciardo and Hamilton with putting those quick laps in to make the overcut work.
Now I'm probably the only one here that thinks this but i still like Monaco being part of F1 calender, I don't know, I just enjoy the track and its challenges despite the races being a complete procession. As a little kid I would never miss it and stay up late watching the race. And now as "big kid" just enjoy racing on it on f1 games. Although lately I have got a real liking to Singapore more so than Monaco.

I dont get why anyone's berating Ferrari about what they did...I'd call them stupid if they treated Kimi fairly (lol). That was a first class screw over, it would've been more polite to fuck up his pitstop. Anyway, Lewis had his head on straight and brought home some very precious coupla points. Mercedes needs to hit back hard the next 3 races and Bottas has to be in the frame as well. Hope they sort it out, we know Singapore is also almost a guarantee for Vettel. And goddamn Button lol..running dead last and then almost kills a kid. Fuckin idiot, the best thing he did in his comeback was talking shit to Alonso at the start. Now piss off, Mr Past It. I love this image lol can't get over it!

Although lately I have got a real liking to Singapore more so than Monaco. That's why I like the race as well. Don't laugh but here's an idea I've been putzing around with... what it Monaco remained on the calendar but the teams would go into this weekend with special one off spec built cars. Still the F1 team's effort and build but with a old F1 style spec, less wing and a V10 engine built by Cosworth. You'd still keep the F1 vibe get the fans listening to the sound they've craved, since it's a spec built car there would be no chassis or areo advantage, just the build quality each team would put into it, a la Indy. But most importantly cars that would be able to overtake on track. That my friend is the glitz, glamor and racing that Liberty should be looking to bring into the sport. The amount of money teams would save in not having to special engineer steering, suspension and aero for this one race would more than pay off for the expense of this one off car plus we'd be able to get something akin to what a race of champions would bring, all about driver talent.

Don't get me wrong, I love Monaco and thoroughly enjoyed my experience watching the race there in the mid '90s, but it's just not suitable for today's cars. Hell, I'd rather see the drivers all compete at Indy 500!

this was one boring as hell race though...it was incredible, almost every overtaking manouvre attempted ended in failure. I can't recall a single successful one.
Even Lewis didn't even attempt a single one.

I am getting sick and tired of how the Ferrari switch-a-roo is the most controversial thing since Jeremy Clarkson hooked that producer. Honestly, to the F1 fans moaning about it, get over it, coming from a Ferrari guy. I'll admit, it was gutting to see Kimi have to wait a bit longer to get his first win in four years, is it? But once Vettel had the clear air and the pace, it was game over for Kimi. It's annoying for Kimi to lose out on a strategy that usually bodes well for his situation but what can you do? Make it a soap opera apparently.
And there are still people making a song and dance about it. Christ...

I don't get it either..... yeah, I'd be upset if I was a Kimi fanatic (or was Kimi), but it's part and parcel of F1. I think the main reason people carry on so much is because it was Ferrari, and there have been so many past occasions (all FAR more obvious/worse), people find it hard to forget & forgive.
End of the day: If you're a Vettel fan then you are happy.... and nervous... and willing to share the glory of the "Greatest driver EVER!!!!!!" with anyone who pases. If you're a Hamilton fan then you realise he's overcome much bigger points gaps in the past 3 years and Vettel will have grid drops ahead. Plus there's some great beats to listen to while you watch the girls dance. If you're a Kimi fan then you are just hoping for a pity win to finish his F1 season (career?) on a high. And have probably finished half the Vodka If you're a Ricciardo fan then you've already had enough beers to get through to next season where it might be brighter... and have filled up on little dutch pancakes. If you're a Max fan, when school finishes you can go home and play with your cars and await the day he wins is WDC.

^^ if you're an Alonso fan then you were disappointed for him having flown to another continent to enter a different race series only to get the same result he would have in Monaco. A. Blown. Honda. Engine.
