Rusty means that now when you bite they'll need a tetanus shot.

I think both Seb and Lewis handled themselves well at the press conference. Obviously, both are under team orders to watch what they say and to consider the matter done no matter what they think inside. This section pretty much sums it up for the 2 of them:

Mercedes showed up here with the updates they had planned for Silverstone.

It's all good as long as their 'updates' don't start falling apart while they're leading races.

Hopefully the updated Honda engine doesn't fall to bits either.

... reports "Ferrari haven't broken any rules" but have had to remove oil auxillary lines from the second oil tank to the PU. We might get more information over the weekend.

Apparently tests were performed after qualifying in Montreal and one team that the FiA would not single out was found to have an unusual amount of residual oil. That's why the clarification was issued.
Mercedes apparently used GPS data to conclude that in Montreal Ferrari were gaining on them on the straights, that's why they were surprised by Hamilton's commanding pole, they really thought they weren't going to get it.

Wouldn't have thought there'd be dedicated oil lines that could just be removed, my understanding is that conditions within the engine under some settings allowed more oil than normal to bleed off into the airbox. Could be wrong though.

These were oil lines to a secondary tank that Mercedes "saw" on the Ferrari at some point (perhaps in Canada according to Ted post qualifying talk in Baku) so this has been bubbling for some time.
If you recall it was Ferrari that asked a while back whether they could use two separate oil formulas and the FiA came back with no as an answer.

If they have such a dedicated setup I fail to see the 'they haven't broken any rules' part

If they have such a dedicated setup I fail to see the 'they haven't broken any rules' part It's the FiA you're talking about here. Did you already forget their ruling on Monday?

I'm with you... the only real data we have is from Baku going forward and seeing if the Q3 gap between Ferrari and Mercedes. More importantly the Q3 gap between Ferrari and Red Bull to exclude gains potentially made by Mercedes.

I'm not saying there's no shenanigans going on with the oil, just that I'm skeptical that there could be a dedicated system that has no other purpose and can just be disconnected in such a way while no wrongdoing is noted.

The hilarious thing is the Ferrari delusional gang were screaming foul at Mercedes, when all the time it was Ferrari playing the oil game. Love it!

FFS we're fucked again, the headrest in Baku, now the gearbox. I'm praying for a rainy race to maximise Lewis chance of winning.
How Vettel under wet weather condition ? I dont even remember, last time he struggled a little bit in wet weather conditions was at Interlagos, last year I believe.
Of course Verstappen is a master too but I dont give a flying fuck if he wins the race under those conditions, Lewis just need to finish ahead of Vettel.
