Hammer you've been very quiet about our max vs ricciardo bet. doubting yourself? Oh not at all, I'm just more worried about Mercedes looking like they are taking their gas of the pedal a bit. I wanted ferrari thrashed this season, now I think I'll just settle for another Championship for Hamilton. The Max VS Ricciardo bet....so far is a bit disappointing since reliability seems to be screwing them up for an actual battle to take place.

Oh look, it's 2016 again! The Pit Strategist from 2016 has returned to be a fucking donkey to our pit stops! Should've pitted in when Max did.

Here I was screaming for Hamilton to come in, and instead the guys who always think on their feet called both cars in while the computer geeks at Mercedes were sleeping and staring at screens. Fuckers

Verstappen is a fucking dickhead I agree. ric showed today he is by far the more rounded driver. aggression, wisdom, exp. max is still a go karting maverick

For his antics on track last year and this year I have no problems with him failing me on this bet.

The drivers standings is insane. It's just been 3 races but would be awesome if it stays this way all year long.

I want to like Verstappen but I can't anymore. He's a liability, before long, he should be Kvyat'd because he is not going to learn if he keeps being a nob. Ricciardo's moves is why Daniel is the Number 1 driver.

My thoughts:
- Great pit strategy by Red Bull, perfect safety car and a great double stack. - Mercedes judged the first pits perfectly but got caught out a little on the second with the safety car. Good recovery for Bottas though, Hamilton seemed to struggle since Saturday FP1 I really think they went the wrong way on Friday. - Shitty strategy from Ferrari, they needed to cover Red Bull & Mercedes straight away but took way too long. Unlucky for Vettel but at least it keeps the championship going. - Verstappen needs to learn to be more patient, he fucked up last week, he fucked up with Hamilton this week and he then fucked up with Vettel too. Just look at Ricciardo, he showed you exactly how it should be done. Max threw away the win and a double podium for Red Bull. - Force India lost out a fair amount to the safety car but they were already out of position, lost lots of positions at the start and didn't seem to have the downforce through S1 and S2 - Williams, Toro Rosso & Sauber struggling a lot too through S1 and S2 with a lack of downforce; All 3 were decent in S3. - Hass in my opinion switched the two drivers way too early, it's not like Magnussen could pull away from Grosjean after they swapped.
As for overtaking... the cars couldn't follow at all through S1 and S2, just look how many faster cars couldn't pass because they just couldn't stay right on the rear of the other cars. The only thing that made for some decent overtakes was Red Bull pitting with the safety car.

I feel for Bottas though, last weekend he was criticized (rightly so) for being a lame duck when the win was right there....today he did everything absolutely right and still couldn't win just because of bad SC timing. A win today would've really done some for his motivation, he got the better of Hamilton yesterday too. This is something I never saw from Rosberg through the 3 years partnership, he never had Hamilton covered for the whole weekend.

For Hamilton at least, 2018 - The Year Of Failed Pitstops.
Round 1 - Haas pitstop errors cause a VSC and cost him the win. Round 2 - Ferrari pitstop error force Vettel to 1 stop and cost Hamilton a chance at P2 Round 3 - Mercedes failing to call for a stop, while RBR did, cost Hamilton a podium.
Taking bets now on which team will cause the problem in Baku!
As for the race... Snoozed for the first half, then BOOM. Great awareness and composure from Ricciardo! While Bottas may lack the killer instinct to PASS someone, he certainly can defend! Kimi, despite Ferrari's best intentions to screw him, drove a solid race. Lewis, something has happened. Maybe he needs more meat in his diet! That was a 100% sulk of a drive; no attacking, very little defensive driving, and total lack of excitment. Max, it's all or nothing with this guy. So much talent, so much pace, so little composure. He was ALWAYS going to get Lewis & Seb... he just needed to bide his time a little. Seb, while a poor stop wasn't his fault, he DID half open the door to Max (I saw the lock up puff too Max!)
As for the season, it's certainly opened right up. Lewis NEEDS to win Baku this year. His 4 WDC years all included at least 1 win in the first 3 races. He'll need to put on a summer run if he is to get #5 this season. There is a meeting coming up that is now VITAL to the excitment of F1. Teams have to lock in Aero rules for 2019 by (I THINK) mid May. Given the fact that Bahrain and China are supposed to be 2 great overtaking tracks, massive tyre advantages aside, these chassis are killing the chance to overtake.

Lewis admitted he was off it all weekend, and needs to sort it out.
But third race in a row Mercedes have failed on strategy. It was a no brainer to call Hamilton in with the safety car.
Good race though, lots happenning. Delighted for Ricciardo. He always goes well here and he’s so clinical when he makes a move.
