The Ferraris were the faster car. As seen in quali, it was only a monumental effort by Hamilton that secured that pole. Except they weren't faster in quali... Hamilton had the best overall time he just never put a fully clean lap together. Raikkonen: 27.512 + 34.911 + 23.567 = 1:25.990 Vettel: 27.516 + 34.752 + 23.636 = 1:25.904 Hamilton: 27.520 + 34.708 + 23.643 = 1:25.871 Even then Hamilton's best sector times weren't the fastest he could go, look at all of the onboards and you can see how much more Hamilton could have improved and how little Ferrari could have improved. As for the race... Not sure who's arguement this helps, but comparison laps between Seb & Lewis. Y Axis is in 0.5s steps. The 3 highest points on the image are the pit stops, with SC laps off the chart.

I see nothing wrong by Magnussen here, it was hard racing but he did leave space at Turn 7, there was a car's width with the kerb included. Fonzi is a hypocrite, in China this season he completely left Vettel no space when passing him, very obviously a spiteful manouvre so this bitching is unwarranted. Or what about Fonzi vs Palmer at Spa last year. Can't find a video for that one, but Palmer got completely pushed off at the hairpin.

Not sure who's argument this helps, but comparison laps between Seb & Lewis. Y Axis is in 0.5s steps. The 3 highest points on the image are the pit stops, with SC laps off the chart. Stint 1 (Soft vs Soft):- Vettel was averaging in at 0.454 faster than Hamilton across the stint - In dirty air (first 10 laps) Hamilton was averaging in at 1.529 slower than Vettel - In clean air (after lap 10, on a 5 lap longer stint) Hamilton was averaging in at 0.406 faster than Vettel - Vettel's fastest lap was only 0.098 faster than Hamiltons (Vettel's was set at start of stint, Hamiltons was set towards end of stint) - Vettel's tyres were going off after 10~ laps and the blister started to appear on lap 14. - Hamilton's tyres started to go off on lap 21~. Stint 2 (Medium vs Medium):- Hamilton was averaging in at 0.930 faster than Vettel. - Hamilton's fastest lap was 1.500 faster than Vettel's Stint 3 (Soft vs Medium):- Vettel was averaging in at 0.127 faster than Hamilton - Vettel's fastest lap was 0.549 faster than Hamiltons. - If we adjust the lap times / averages by a conservative 1 second for the tyre delta Hamilton's average lap time would have been 0.873 faster than Vettel and his fastest lap time would have been 0.451 faster than Vettel The tyre delta is likely to be higher, we can look at: - The difference in fastest lap times - The difference in lap times after changing tyres In both instances the improvement is easily over 1 second, Pirelli estimated that the soft tyre was 0.8 of a second faster back before the season but in the past years the delta has been a higher because in testing most teams do long runs on the harder compounds rather than ultimate pace.

Updated Table: The difference of all racing laps in when in clean and dirty air, excluding pit stops, first laps, outlaps and safety car periods was only -0.104 in Vettel's favour. However if you remove Hamilton's first 10 laps (Where he is having to pass a lot of cars) Hamilton ends up 0.417 faster on average, If you only want to remove the first 5 laps, Hamilton is 0.206 faster on average per lap.

Have to say, the pictures are awesome RC! I'm banning myself from attending Silverstone. I'm a curse being there xD Stop talking nonsense sir, it's all random, in the three times I've been to Montreal Hamilton has been crashed into by Button, has taken pole but wound up in 3rd place with the infamous Merc tire muncher and finally won a race on my third try. You just have to keep going, it's bound to happen for you.

I’ve been going for more years than I care to remember. My driver wins some, he loses some. But Silverstone is still just the best whatever! Get yourself back there! CHEAP TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW !

Have to say, the pictures are awesome RC! I'm banning myself from attending Silverstone. I'm a curse being there xD First time I attended the Msian GP during the hybrid era, Mercedes scored their first 1-2 with Ham winning. So I don't think it's random, I think Merc really fed off from my highly positive vibes. Just talking shit, don't mind me.
