Ah right. He’s not too happy with these mediums. If rain comes late it could help Ham and Ric.

Holy... this race is interesting.
- Unlucky for Ricciardio, the mediums took their time but eventually looked good. Wrong tyre for the start though. - Good judgement from Mercedes, pitting Hamilton just before the rain to make sure he has tons of grip for the rain. - Indiotic strategy calls going for intermediates so damn early for Verstappen, Leclerc and Alonso. - Hamilton was closing in fast on the cars in front on fresh ultras. - A lot of cars started to struggle in the increasing rain, lots of spins and nearly crashing... then Vettel puts it into the wall! Lots of angry wheel banging ensued. - SC Restart, Hamilton had very cold tyres at the start but Hamilton was starting to improve with the tyre temps and then the team went for team orders... I hate team orders but much respect for Bottas, a clear and calm "Copy James", no arguing or anything. - Hamilton towards end of the race going 1 second a lap faster than others... 14th to 1st, not bad. Back in the lead of the championship. Fantastic drive, amazing strategy from Mercedes for once!

Leclerc in a Ferrari next year doesn’t look great after that effort.

Payback's a bitch. Wet weather tends to show us who's who. Surprisingly enough though Verstappen had nothing, LeClerc maybe we've seen his achilles heel and Vettel, well he just doesn't handle the wet stuff.
What a race!

Lewis self destructed. I think he was too focused on revenge (for Silverstone) and just pushed the car and broke it over those kerbs....and then not pulling over when told to. Not a good sign. He needs to calm down immediately, the WDC is all to play for but he's made it harder today. Don't know what to expect from him tomorrow, and don't have a good feeling about it. I said this yesterday..prematurely before the real reason came out. Today, I throw my ego out and apologize to Lewis. Firstly for thinking he fucked up. Secondly for thinking even he can't produce miracles in F1. This was a miraculous race. The miracle was what no one mentioned - Lewis keeping up with the Ferraris and staying easily ahead of Bottas the 10 laps before the rain came. I kept wondering what the hell and how was he doing it, but that was his miracle man...it defies logic. Old tyres, managed to keep the Ferraris sweating and I think that's what ultimately resulted in Vettel crashing because they did NOT HAVE THAT GAP. The commentators never mentioned it, they just kept saying "yeah he is still there" but he shouldn't have been. He shouldn't have been CLOSE!!! Thanks for this race Lewis! I love you man. #nohomo

Leclerc in a Ferrari next year doesn’t look great after that effort. I’ve been a massive fan but today didn’t look good. Unless, to give him the benefit of the doubt, it was coming off inters into wet weather with ultras not warmed up. On another note, sad to here of the demise of Sergio ( marchione ?) I actually like him. The guy taking over wants to play it conservatively and is likely to retain Kimi rather than risk Leclerc.

I think Ham’s head will explode before winning this one. What was that? NEVER underestimate the Ham!!

WHOOP, WHOOP, WHOOP!!!!!! I am soooooo happy! Disregard Hamilton at your peril!!! That was an amazing drive!!! Okay the guy is emotional, but that drives him!! Head and shoulders over everyone when it rained.
Talk that Bottas was called off. Well he was sort of, but he’d been allowed a shot, and after that it was too risky. Losing a one/ two and the lead Of the championship, wet track. It was the right call. Reminded me of the Jordan call at spa when leading one two ( their first win I think) Damon was miles ahead of Ralf Schumacher but a safety car closed them up. It was pouring with rain. Damon came on and said if he challenges I’ll race him. Jordan called it off and they got a one/Two finish. MSchumacher was arsey about it, after all the team orders he gained from!! Anyway, I digress! It’s wine time!!! And looking forward to the highlights. I missed bits being on a buffery stream for much of the race.
THAT WAS JUST WHAT LEWIS NEEDED!

After calming down a bit mentally, I was looking at other surprising aspects of this race....Verstappen didn't actually make any impact on slow tired Kimi....were his tyres that much older?
I would've expected Verslappen to pounce and be past within 2 laps in those sort of conditions.

racechick and Hammer, Lewis has been summoned to the stewards over him going out of the pit entry back onto the track which looks like it's against the rules, last time this happened was to Raikkonen under similar circumstances (although in his case they had been all warned before the race and it was brought in because of that track layout) and he got a 5 second penalty for doing it... However, the stewards had more than enough time to issue a time penalty in the race and could have applied it which would have given Hamilton enough time to pull a 5 second gap. The only things Hamilton has in his favour is that the safety car was already out and he did come back on safely, out of the racing line of other cars + there wasn't any cars directly behind him/coming round the corner. I don't think they'll give him a penalty but I wouldn't be surprised. Apparently during the race no teams said anything but after the race ended a team made a complaint to the stewards... we all know what team it was.

Whatever the outcome of this, even if Lewis is given a ten second penalty for it, no blemish on today's joy. Vettel choking under pressure made the entire weekend worth while. The guy simply cannot control a car in the wet stuff.

Wß so it looks like Mercedes were aware that Hamilton might be facing a penalty for this and they told him on the radio to pull a gap much like back in 2015 Monza, that's why they gave Bottas the team order to hold position.

So basically the choices are no action, five or ten. The worst would be he takes 12 points for fourth place. I'll take that.

I wondered if this might raise it’s ugly head. Well I guess we have to see what prevails. I’d be pissed if he was relegated to 4th after that drive. .

Oh for fucks sake....
The last time Hamilton got a post race penalty was after an insane drive in Spa and winning it.
Not again.
