Bottas has done quite well to recover from his shocking weekend at Melbourne, Was thinking it might start a downturn with all the pressure on with contracts and all. just needs to keep it going though for his sake because those others drivers are lurking around his seat like a pack of wolves.

I thought Bottas was pretty damn impressive in Shanghai to be honest. When he is ahead, he's a tough nut to get past. I wouldn't say he lacks anything in the defensive department. But he's got that conservative attitude when it comes to attacking, which makes him potentially a great No.2 driver for the team. If I were Merc I'd be pleased, since Bottas seems to be able to keep the peace and pick up the pieces when Lewis doesn't turn up. Bottas deserved the win in China 100% but it turned out to be a highly opportunistic Redbull team which took it.
Don't forget last year Bottas played a key part in breaking down Vettel and Ferrari. He slowed him down so much in Spain that Merc can claim Bottas' defensive skills lead to Lewis' victory at the end. And also in Silverstone when Bottas forced Vettel into locking his front left so bad going into a corner, and later got a puncture losing again a bunch of points to Lewis. Silverstone last year was sort of a turning point in the WDC I'd say.

Holy shit I just realized I've been spelling Valtteri all wrong thus far. Always though it's two r's instead of two t's.
What a groundbreaking discovery. Even LRW spelt it wrong in the original topic.
