Anyone else think it interesting that the first race Kimi pulls his finger out and actually races to a podium is also the race at the only place where the local bars dont serve alcohol

Every year I'm losing my seat - Kimi Raikkonen
Kimi Raikkonen shrugged off continuing speculation that he may lose his Ferrari seat to Valtteri Bottas by saying he always seems to be at the centre of driver rumours.
Raikkonen is out of a contract with Ferrari at the end of this season and it is up to the team to take up an option to extend his deal to 2016. Boss Maurizio Arrivabene is using that fact to motivate the Finn but rumours linking Ferrari with Bottas for a drive either next year or 2017 continue to linger.
Raikkonen's future and possible retirement was the subject of speculation last year as he struggled with the F14-T but the 2007 world champion seemed unmoved by questions about Bottas in the Monaco press conference.
When asked what qualities fellow Finn Bottas would bring to Ferrari if it were to sign him, Raikkonen shrugged and said: "Who knows. Even though we are Finns we don't know each other so well. You'll have to ask Ferrari what they are going to but I'm pretty certain what will happen. It seems to be every year, with every team I am [at], I'm being kicked out or not getting a new contract or whatever. I'm not worried about that at all so time will tell for sure."
Ferrari saw the gap to Mercedes widen in Spain as the upgrades it brought to the Circuit de Catalunya failed to have the desired impact on performance. Raikkonen expects to see an improvement from Ferrari at the next races, starting with Monte Carlo this weekend.
"I think every conditions and circuit is different. It was a tricky weekend for us [in Spain], but I am sure we will be better here and upcoming races. It's not ideal for us, but the aim is to improve. We have come a long way from last year, and we have to keep working."

Is this really a line he wants the public to be aware of? If I were his manager I'd give him a swift kick in the a$$ lol

This is the sort of confusion and ground hog day effect I get every morning I roll outta bed with a mighty hangover and I try to remember where I left the car the night before

Poor Kimi. He doesn't let it get to him though. Unless he hides his emotions very very well. For Kimi, more than any other driver, it seems to me that driving an F1 car is just a job.

Kimi has some homework to do
paddocktalk.com Maurizio Arrivabene sent Kimi Raikkonen away from the Monaco grand prix with some "homework".
Finn Raikkonen is already on notice to keep up his rate of improvement in 2015 if he wants the Ferrari boss to take up the 2016 'option' in his contract.
But amid swirling rumours Valtteri Bottas is in the frame, 35-year-old Raikkonen has homework to do, Arrivabene said after Monaco.
While Sebastian Vettel finished on the podium again, Raikkonen was just sixth in Monaco -- having qualified sixth.
"Kimi is driving on the same level as Sebastian Vettel. He is really a very good racing driver," Arrivabene is quoted by Finland's Turun Sanomat newspaper.
"The problem is qualifying, when he cannot get up and running in the same way that he can in the races.
"So I give him homework -- to write a hundred times 'I must do better in qualifying'," Arrivabene joked.
be interesting to see if it actually works

Always an excuse I'm afraid. Still one of the most liked drivers on the grid and one of the most well payed. life is good.

Can't believe we have to put up with this arrogant aloof waste of an F1 seat for another year.

Can't believe we have to put up with this arrogant aloof waste of an F1 seat for another year. Dear Gods. I like him, I can admit he has lost his way a bit. I'm not sure if it's his lack of interest or he just doesn't have it anymore. I hope next year and even for the rest of the year he gets his shit together and performs much better.

I'm starting a pool as to the first race weekend Arrivabene will publicly question his performance and demand more.

It's being defended vigorously for some reason. Actually this has been the first race in a long time that I can say I agree with the stewards decisions 100%.

At the time I thought the 10s stop go was a bit harsh, I was expecting a drive through like Hamilton got in Hungary. I can only guess that Raikkonen was given a bigger penalty because he actually caused Bottas to retire from a podium position. Upon reflection I would have given Raikkonen a reprimand taking his total to 3 and a 10 place grid drop in Mexico
