I think it is a done deal. I mean, they said there was nothing progressed with Vettel going to Ferrari last year and look what happened. Kimi is on his way out it seems, so let's play devils advocate and say Bottas goes to Ferrari, who will get the seat at Williams? Nico Hulkenberg makes his return.
Many are saying what about Kimi going to Williams, yes that may seem likely but he did say he wants to end his career at Ferrari. I know Fernando said the same thing, but Kimi tends to be serious emotionally. Personally, Bottas moving to Ferrari would be amazing. Though I was a bit judgemental on his debut year, he has progressed and I believe he is a World Champion in the making and I love the guy. He will certainly be my vote.

Interestingly Ferrari confirm that Seb is no faster than Kimi but just makes fewer mistakes. Hmmn, Ferrari over paid Kimi from Lotus on the back of his consistency and mistakeless streak at Lotus. Do these guys not have any common sense? If they sack him (again) it will be for not being consistent enough

So we can't make more cars, so we'll make more crap. At least they're being honest.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA best news ever! I echo WBs sentiments when I saw the news. Punks spending so much cash on Kimi Spinmeister and Sebastian Diffuser, they need to float their sh!t now with a begging bowl.

Talking about. Diffusers, or blowing to be more exact. There was something about Ferrari reintroducing blowing round the front of the car to get downforce........I think that's what they said,

You can tell who's who because the center of the front wheel will have about a two inch hole in the center of the hub.

Since he was poached from Lotus Kimi has been out-qualified 24-5, out-raced 20-3, but Seb is comfortable around him

I'd seen those stats and it's quite baffling.
The excuses are pouring in. He's had more car problem, he's not had a car optimized for his style, he's recovering from back issues. I understand why Ferrari would keep him but it's got nothing to do with his driving and everything to do with his popularity.
I'm sure his salary was cut in half and any additional money would come only from results. But they keep the guy that time and time again comes out on top as the most popular driver on the grid. Results be dammed. So Ferrari isn't about winning as the Tifuzzy would have us believe. They're about maintaining an image and trying to turn a buck more than the are about winning. Because a team that wanted to WIN... would not have kept him as their driver.

The only logic i can find in the situation is that Ferrari decided on a different driver instead of Bottas, and that driver has signed a pre contract for 2017 because he wasnt available now. In that case it would have to be Ricciardo (I think he could probably escape RBR contract by then) or Verstappen (unlikely for Ferrari to be brave with a non WDC youngster)or maybe Rosberg (unlikely as Seb wouldnt be happy). It cant be Hulkenburg who without doubt would be at least as good as Kimi with better long term number 2 potential. Or, knowing Ferrari, it could be Massa At least we have the proof that Seb had a hand in the decision

I've figured out why Ferrari kept Kimi. Arrivabene's wife is Kimi's press director. Poor woman would have been out of a job.
