The biggest question is where are all 3 of them off to?

Nice technical summary from Scarbs as to Manor's need to do things towards integrating the Mercedes engine and Williams transmission and suspension. Quite a lot of work for the team, but the components are there.

I have a feeling Tombazis is good. But I'm not sure why I have that feeling.
I hope it works for them too. Love to see them do well.

A gifted college aerodynamisist would be an upgrade to whatever it was they were using in that role previously. I will say however.. Ferrari aerodynamicist. Mercedes aerodynamicist... just sayin'.

MRT-Mercedes
Interesting, it's pretty clear that Mercedes' is more important than Manor in the team now so yeah this 100% confirms the b-team status.
How long until Honda buy out Sauber?

This might be a stupid question. Why did they choose some bits from the Williams car and the engine from Merc? When it makes it difficult to fit together? Especially if they're going to be a Merc B team. Is there some, 'best of both worlds' thinking going on? Or is it ' you put the Williams in,the Williams out, the Merc engine in, And you shake it all about! '

They're buying the suspension *bits and transmission from Williams. Since Williams also uses a Merc engine it's really a plug and play affair. They're also getting technical support from Williams.
*I wouldn't normally refer to suspension components as "bits" but I'm responding to RC so...

I will ignore your last sentence WB. So they're getting support from Williams because they're buying ' suspension components'. And they sort of fit with the Mercedes engine because Williams have one too. All good so far! But I've heard the fit isn't that brilliant, there are some issues, because the shape of the car is a bit different. So wouldn't it have been better to get the whole lot from Mercedes and the support from them too, especially if they're going to be the merc B team ? Unless they can somehow do a genie thing and make it fit together even better than the Merc.........which isn't likely. ( I added that last bit before you could!)

Some people say that Williams has the best transmission in the business. I think the idea here was to have Mercedes focus on what they do, engines and pawn off the support to Williams since there's much more to be gained by Manor from simply getting a competitive and well sorted chassis.

Everyone who voted voted for Manor...I just looked. So you think it's a good move. Do you think it's better than being a complete Merc b team with Merc transmission bits ( I mean parts) ( no I mean components) and Merc support? If I ran the team and I could choose, I think I'd choose complete Merc B team.

I think it's the best they were going to get. I don't think at this point that Merc was in the B team business if they could have Williams shoulder some of the burden. Any help they get will move them up the grid and Like I said, it's not like they're getting crappy components from Williams.
They can always revisit the relationship in a year or two. I also don't think that Haas will remain Ferrari bound forever if they really get to a point where they'll want to spread their wings.
