This is Colmar in the Alsace. You can see the German influence in the architecture.

This is a renovated castle in the Alsace region, there are lots of such castles. This was renovated at the turn of the centuary ( the early 1900's). It was originally a late Medieval castle. The architect paid meticulous attention to archives and also used artifacts found around the site to have reporoductions of things like tiles and German stoves made by artisans. He also sourced ancient furniture from across Germany to furnish it. Remember I mentioned Versailles some while ago? Stunning palace but no soul. Well the architect put a soul back into this building. The name of the castle is Haut Koenigsberg.

Me and my friends are planning to go to Spain this January. We would love to see some nice beaches with clear water and some stunning scenery. We were thinking Majorca,Ibiza and Canary Island, we are up to some adventures and experience a great nightlife in our travel. I came across this article about www.canaryislandsinfo.co.uk/la-gomera/ and i think its pretty neat. Can anyone suggest any ideas or tips? Any help is kindly appreciated

Spent a few days in Pattaya and now on the small island of koh samet. It’s strange who you bump into in places like this...... natny here too. 😁 I’m bitten all over by mozzies, there’s lots of them and they seem to like the taste of me! Lots of stray dogs here too and the other day we saw them getting darted in the main town ( main town is actually just a smallish collection of shops and restaurants leading to the port. ) horrible. I think I should live here and look after all the dogs.

Wß I’ve another one for your bucket list. The sanctuary of Truth at Pattaya. It’s a modern building and has become my favourite modern building, up on a par with Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The sanctuary of truth is based on Buddhist and Hindu ideologies . It’s an amazing breathtaking structure all made of wood wit( carvings covering the whole inside and outside. Everywhere carunings except the floor you walk on, and really reall intricate carvings. You can see the master craftsmen working in the site. The building isn’t yet finished. Bit about it here... www.lonelyplanet.com/thailand/pattaya/attractions/sanctuary-of-truth/a/poi-sig/481140/357676en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctuary_of_TruthI’ll post a few pics I took but doubt they will do it justice.

As I said. This doesn’t do it justice. I’m not ther3 now, it was a couple of weeks ago but I didn’t ge5 round to posting. I’m in a different part of Thailand now. One last pic that might interest you Wß it’s a wooden sign that was in the temple/structure/building. Hope you can read it, the flash has made it a bit tricky.
