I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread before - but im watching the final episode of This is England.
Probably the best TV I have ever watched.
I think youd need to watch the original film and then all the following TV series - but as a package it's some of the best writing and acting you'll ever see.
Unless you are American - then you'll probably just think 'WTF?!?'

I watched the film, it was where I learned that paky was a derogatory term. Didn't know there was a series.

I've not seen this but Nikki assures me it's really good. Filmed in Nottingham she knows some of the actors/ actresses in it . She knows Vicky McClure( sp) who won a BAFTA for it. I will have to watch this!

There have been about 3 TV series.
The original film from 2006 - This is England (based in '83)
Then the TV series:
This is England '86 This is England '88 This is England '90
I just watched the final ever episode.
We should be exporting this - instead of shit like Doctor Who (sorry Liam).

Hey! Doctor Who introduced the world to Billie Piper, so there's that.

It's got some comedy in it. But it can be dark too.
Main areas covered include (but are not limited to):
Drugs Incest Rape Racism Violence
And all with a fairly decent soundtrack.

Am I the only person that has little to no interest in Star Wars?
Don't get me wrong, the three they filmed first were pretty good at the time. But then the second bunch they released were mediocre at best.
It's an old story and format. Give up the cash cow and focus on something new.

I only watched one Star Wars film (III) and remember cringing at the balcony scene..... "i love you, you love me, my heart is broken, how could you"...ugh. Most memorable was Anakin turning at the lava scene and Obi Wan screaming "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!" but apart from these two scenes I know f*ck all about the story. Oh, apart from the I AM YOUR FATHER plot twist shoved down everyone's throats of course.

You have to hand it to that Star Wars marketing campaign, they really know how to get the hype out there. Ppl on facebook are even changing their profile pic to that light saber thing now.
