Exactly, I've posted on other places about this and no one can think objectivity and without an unbiased.
Every argument they try and use to make him sound like he's the best ever driver I can give a reply back as to why he isn't (yet) but they all just dislike, downvote, send insults, try and call me biased, bitter... Etc
I think he's driven really really well in the RB but if Kvyat was still driving it he would have done equally as good, put Hamilton or Alonso in the seat and well they'd likely have even better results.

Those people saying he's the best ever/etcetc are freakin imbeciles, their words don't matter. But what's most promising about him is at 18 he's already taking it on track to the established drivers so his potential is amazing at this stage. He could be a World Champion in his TEENS (if RB is up for it and Ricciardo gets a bit shafted, it's enough). While most aspiring F1 drivers are simply aiming for 1 Championship to be fulfilled in life.

Max is a product of 2 things: natural talent, and his generation's belief that they are owed everything.
He gets into that car with no respect for other drivers or their achievements, and He gets into that car with no regard for consequences given current safety levels. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just saying that these factors when allied with obvious natural racing instinct and talent make him a formidable driver. Will he stuff up, yes of course, but he will get it right more often than he gets it wrong and that will become more and more the case as he gains experience.

I think he's supremely talented and supremely confident. He also has scant regard for his more senior and more experienced competitors. Which is fair enough. It comes from the gruelling upbring from his dad. He's made him hard. Not sure I agree with it, but it's given Max a shield in F1. He will make mistakes, he will get things wrong and he will get stick for it, but he won't care. He'll go out and try the same thing again. His outrageous talent and racing instinct reminds me of Hamilton's. But he's far more confident in himself immune to criticism than Hamilton was when he started in F1. IT got to Hamilton ( doesn't now) but it doesn't touch Max. Funny thing I heard in the commentary at the track. They were extolling the virtues of Max and said something like....'he's only 18 and he's driving like a driver of immense experience and skill, someone like ( I thought they might say Lewis or Alonso) .......Button!

Of course he's going to be confident, he's got an ex F1 father who has taught him a lot growing up and has grown him into a F1 driver.
He got into the sport at a young age, he got promoted to a top team very early on... anyone in his shoes would have that same confidence. He got a win early on with the top team because they were at a track they could challenge on with the two cars who could beat them crashing out 2nd corner.

*disclaimer, the pricing quoted is bulldinky... the sticker price for the car in the states is roughly $200k it's just supply and demand economics at the moment and Porsche can't build them fast enough. IMO, young Max is being taken for a ride, a phone call to Porsche to have a rising star F1 driver in your ultimate track day car, they'd make one for him pronto and not for twice the sticker price.

Here's what I think about about the Belgian gp...
Firstly, not a fan of verstappen. I think he is a great driver and love how he is fearless against all other drivers but his personality sort of reminds me of a wholemeal pancake. Flat and pointless. I really want to like him but he is just too boring.
However, in Belgium I support him. why?...
1. H didn't cause the first lap collision it was the outside Ferrari driver (Vettel I think). This is clear. It was a knock on effect, Ferrari, Ferrari, red bull and if the Ferrari drivers hadn't have touched then Verstappen would have easily left enough room. He should have apologized to verstappen for this, messed up his home grand prix.
2. raikkonnen moaning over the radio about verstappen's driving was pathetic. He wasn't even close to being punished by the stewards. The reason being he did nothing wrong. He didn't change direction more times than he should, didn't squeeze him, nothing. Raikonnen just couldn't get passed. If Raikonnen can't get passed then don't try. Not Verstappen's fault if he raik isn't good enough to get passed without putting himself in danger. If ur too chicken to try raikonnen, then don't, but don't cry about it after.
Seems to me like the young buck proved his superior skills and the old has beens didn't like it.
Having said this... still a wholemeal pancake.

LOL Natny, I agree on the start. Not on the weaving. Read Ang's article ( by Hughes) on the weaving. Good article ang44 !

This will undoubtedly be talked about: nos.nl/artikel/2129451-botsing-tussen-verstappen-en-ferrari-dreunt-nog-na-in-monza.htmlApparently he said "He should watch his language when he says I might kill someone, cause he killed someone himself in Melbourne 2001" which is referring to a racing incident with Villeneuve in 2001 where debris of his car killed a marshall. If this hasn't been taken out of context or been twisted by the media then... Verstappen just confirmed his douchebag status.

Haha ironically, the same thing was said by JPM after a bitter argument between himself and JV. JV was like "you could kill someone this year" and JPM said "you already have!".
And if Max said that, I support him. If JV thinks he's immune from backlash just because he isn't driving anymore, it's high time people put him in his place. 1 time Champion in a very Button like fashion (though I admit JV is a talent), but the way he talks is like he's the ultimate legend F1 ever saw.

He's a bit of douche but he can definitely drive, I'm expecting big fireworks between Max and Daniel next year if they Red Bull have a shot at the title. It could be nasty especially if Red Bull get on par with Merc on car performance.
