I don't think he'll cope too well. Especially if it happens more than once!

Hmmmm. This is the twilight of this career not the beginning. That said, he may well be capable of putting a brave face on it...........and who knows, Mclaren and Honda may sort things out.

The guy who'd be shaking with anger and frustration is undoubtedly the man who just left the winners to celebrate doing 20 laps in a McLaren today. I hope no one puts a mic in his face and mentions Ferrari for the next few days at least.

Well if practise is anything to go by, Mclaren look to have made quite a leap forward. I hope they can sustain it through the race.

McLaren have been 4th or 5th quickest team through the corners so far this season, and have had the engine turned down. So they have a decent car and more power to come. We could see some fireworks from Alonso already in China. If he can qualify from Q2, he could be in the points. I am starting to suspect they will become a struggling podium contender instead of a lame mid grid team by the end of the year. When Button isn't moaning and bitching about grip for 2 races in a row, then the car must be well balanced and nowhere near its limits - easy to drive miss daisy around in once the power is turned up

We could have some good battles then if Ferrari keep up and Mclaren get in the mix. Alonso has been saying that despite where they are, there is much to be positive about.
And he will put it near its limits when he gets the chance.

Don't quite think tomorrow is the day for McLaren's first points of the season, just too much power and teams having a good year in front of them... but. I would not say it's impossible to see Alonso in the points tomorrow if we see a high attrition rate.
I'm still of the mindset that their first points will come in Monaco.

Alonso is surely approaching his true pestilence range Any driver in a team outside Merc Ferrari and Williams will surely be highly agitated should they see him behind them I think finishing position 7 is about to become Alonsos default unless any those other drivers has a faultless race

That's actually a pretty cool livery. The new 'Jordan'....from wins to midfield to.....non-existency.

Twitcrash feeling brave enough now to put a spin on his ignomious de-employerisation from McLaren www.motorsportmagazine.com/f1/nigel-newsletter/where-is-whitmarsh-now/yeah, right, more like he was flung out the window by Ron or escorted to the door by security whilst sobbing uncontrollably you what? hows the company Ron built gonna define a lame middle management lackey who was caretaker TP after Ron got cheated out the paddock? :twat: hahah, suddenly brave enough to have a dig at the team in the position he drove them into :twat: And there we had it, whiplash wanted to replace Lewis with Alonso to get one up on Ron and his golden boy So now we know what happened behind the scenes in the delay to confirm the drivers - Ron tried to raise money to buy more shares, if he had, no Alonso and no Button, but he didnt in the end and Honda paid for Alonso

Whitmarsh was dirtier than we ever thought, didn't think that possible! Not just idolising Jenson and shitting on Lewis , but actively trying to replace Lewis . GIT FACE!!!
