Here's a list off odds for the championship for the different drivers. It's interestting to see where the bookies place the drivers relative to their team mate. Hamilton has worse odds than Rosberg, Vettel worse than Kimi , and Alonso much worse Button. On most sites Buttons odds are double Alonso to win the championship and that's with the knowledge that Alonso is definately out for Melbourne and could be longer. m.oddschecker.com/t/motorsport/formula-one/drivers-championship#motorsport-formula-one-drivers-championshipOh Lordy Lor!! That's not Button bashing is it?

I found it interesting that Alonso's odds were even with Vettel's odds before the Honda teething problems became apparent at the beginning of the testing. They've changed now. That in itself is telling of what the bookies expect from McLaren.

I saw somewhere that Alonso's odds for winning/scoring more points, were greater than his team mate at the Australian GP.....even though Alonso will not be competing....

Both championships are for Mercedes to lose. I was certain of that last year, this year seems to be more of the same. The questions is will the gap shrink or grow?
I think next year will be the first season Mercedes will face a true challenge, and it's going to come from McHonda. I suspect that the McLaren chassis this season will be a very strong entry and that McLaren's best result of the year will come in Monaco and Singapore.
