You need to look at the breeding aspect - and the medical implications that has.... I live among the Amish... I know what inbreeding and incest does. Who remembers the creepiest of all X-files episode with the inbred hillbillies? Home (The X-Files)

You need to look at the breeding aspect - and the medical implications that has.... I live among the Amish... I know what inbreeding and incest does. From the original link, it states that the law in Scontland is.... Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act of 1995, defines incest as sexual intercourse between blood relatives of opposite sexes."So its ok for two sister - just not a brother and sister. All for the reason I pointed out above.

You need to look at the breeding aspect - and the medical implications that has.... But that opens a can of worms. Do you ban Down's syndrome sufferers from breeding? Do you ban any form of special needs from breeding? If so who? Where do you draw the line? Do you ban low IQ from breeding? I just think it's a whole very tricky area to try to pass judgement on or legislate on.

No because (and I may be wrong here) people of be groups you quoted - they don't necessarily pass on the described condition. Where-as inbreeding WILL cause issues.
That's how I understand it.
Plus. It's just plain wrong. IMO.

Interesting research here that's related. I've seen documentaries in the past that we've got a built in process for avoiding incest at least from a father to daughter standpoint. Daughters research found have an aversion to the sweat and general smells from their fathers, where that aversion isn't there in the sweat of other more genetically distant males.
So as a species there is a safeguard around inbreeding.

I have a 2nd cousin here who actually had a crush on his first cousin (another 2nd cousin of mine) when he was a lot younger. Which was majorly F'D up, I never knew about it but I heard from various other people. We're pretty close now but this is one thing he's never revealed to me and neither have I brought it up or will do at any point.
I have an opposite sort of condition, when I see my first or second cousins I see their parents' faces in their faces. Or I see them as children since I've known them since I was a kid so finding any of them 'attractive' is just not on the cards. Thank God.

Me too, though I am against criminalising people for it and think it's a waste of time for something like that to go to court but I don't think it should be legalised and I don't see it like homosexuality.

Of low intelligence, doesn't the human race get more intelligent as it evolves. I am sure I read somewhere that people on death row have got away with quite literally murder due to them being classed as bring too stupid to know what they are doing.

I've heard about the idea before but it's nothing that can't also be explained with a parallel improvement in living standards, better overall health and better quality diets and an overall healthier population. Given another century or two there would be more data to prove or disprove this since the overall effects of the examples I mention plateau.

Now this is truly shocking. Obviously this doctor never heard of the Hippocratic oath! The fact that its reported by RT itself is perhaps the telltale sign that Russia is in turmoil, financial and moral

Read something today at Forbes, you know the guys that call themselves the 'Capitalist Tool'; They published an interesting read talking about the increasingly and unsustainable wealth divide. Here are some of the highlights, but click the link for the full read. Unless It Changes, Capitalism Will Starve Humanity By 2050 BTW that's their headline not mine!
