If you really wanted to be conscientious you can put a little piece of frosted tape on the lens to diffuse it... I know you won't bother though.

New front tyres and a rear spring today. And I finally fixed my wing mirror. Just that towing eye cover to get now.

PS:That guitar is not gaudy and ugly! What's wrong with it? The colour hasn't come out well in the photo but I was considering changing the chrome parts ,(bridge, knobs, machine heads and strap pegs) to all black. And I'll stick one of the old pots back in to cover up the hole even though it won't be doing anything.

Oh right, sorry, thanks. I'm a bit like Sheldon when it comes to knowing if something is sarcasm or not.

I was going to like this until I thought about the chances of one of those tiny stone chips on the floor getting inside cylinder number 3.

Do benches not exist out there ? He is sitting on something there. Unless you're asking why not a proper bench...I think that thing he's sitting on is sufficient for the work, so why a bench. There's 1 guy who works here, he's 23 years old. WB, you would've seen him in the video on FB. And I spoke (in broken malay) to his younger brother (21) who also works there, the younger bro told me the 23y old guy was offered a job at a BMW branch for a pretty high salary but he declined out of loyalty to the foreman here. Apparently this guy has been playing around with engines (motorbikes) since 12/13y and does a lot of complicated work now like converting E39 engine/trannys into E34s which I heard from other foremen takes a lot of work and needs very steady hands during machining. For me, a lot of this is a different language and I'm at awe at how naturally it comes to these guys.

Well don't even get me started on health and safety and the importance of looking after your back. Bending over like that every day will catch up with him. But I'm more concerned about having a clean work surface to do the work. Doing it straight off the ground just seems so wrong. Maybe I'm too westernised ?

Yes. Yes you are.. No one gives a rats ass about H&S here, especially in unregulated workplaces such as these. As for the work being done on the ground, the mentality is if it gets the job done it's alright. I agree though, I'd have more peace of mind seeing my stuff being worked on in a more proper place.

Don't ever come to my work, you'd have a heart attack over H&S. We couldn't do our job if we stuck to the rules and recommendations.

I don't know if you have the equivalent of the M.O.T test in Malaysia but in the U.K a RHD car fitted with LHD lights would fail

I don't know if you have the equivalent of the M.O.T test in Malaysia lol - Im going to guess no. Hey!! Yes we do, they're called PUSPAKOM. The road vehicle inspection center. And they're awesome since they have these guys called 'runners'....people I'm going to highly appreciate, since they manage to get the necessary docs for you without having your car even looked at. Just pay them some 'coffee money' and they'll settle it. What's going to happen is once the engine is in the car and everything's done, my foreman will get a runner to register the engine to my car chassis on the custom form as a 2.5L machine. Which means my annual tax would be about RM800. When in reality I should pay 4.0L tax which is about RM6600. No, its not a typo.

Love it when there's enterprising young men willing to grease skids. Trump 2020!
