I watched the race but I don't know why I can't seem to enjoy it much. The sound puts me off. And its not because its not loud, I love superbike, motogp, V8 supercars and all but the weird bee sound coming from the E cars just sound weird. And they look really slow on screen, its like they're going on a slow motion mode. I'm sure it's just me, but I hope it grows on me with time.

Just watched the formula E race from Argentina. STUNNING RACE!
Sam Bird was on pole but towards the end he had Di Grassi and Buemi ( championship leaders) right behind him. And for the last four laps Buemi was in his arse. Great driving from both of them. Buemi came from last but Sam defended superbly at the end.
My favourites for various bizarre or obvious reasons are.... Sam, of course. Bruno Piquet Verge Di Silvestro ( she generally runs around in about 14th or 15th but she's in there and she's fighting with the guys on a level playing field; so I'm cheering her in all the way!)
Ones I think are good but they don't get into my heart... Buemi Di Grassi
The one I don't like and don't really think he's that good either Prost

I missed the race and just caught the results and podium. I've intended to but so far not watched much of this, one race I did catch was when Prost took out Heidfeld? on the final corner, was not impressed with that at all, don't think his dad was either.

Prost made errors in this race. Lost the car after the pit stop to change cars. He was scrappy.

A great race by Bird last time out, especially in such an inferior car.

Yes. He was superb the way he held that lead especially at the end. He's becoming a seriously good racer.

Watched Formula E last night. Good race, not as good as the first one. It was Mexico , on the revised F1 grid. Bit of agro during the race. Di Grassi won and was over the moon! He also went to the top of the championship. I've just heard he was stripped of his win due to his first car being slightly under weight. Can't help but feel for him. www.fia.com/news/di-grassi-stripped-mexico-win

Not the Formula I would have hoped for, but still.

Just watched the third round ....the first two were before the winter break. Buemi wins again, that's three out of three, the first driver to do that in FE.
Sam Bird had some issues, not sure what but dropped to the back. I'd forgotten Mitch Evans was in this, he was doing well but got a 5 sec penalty fir soeeding under a yellow.
Nice to see some racing again,

Last nights FormulaE in Mexico was a great race! I'm actually watching it again this morning. I recommend you trying to watch it if you can.

Watch it with the sound off?
It was a great race. Good, drivers, lots of action and real overtaking.

The sound...and I don't know why, but they seem to be quite slow. Like, visually slow. And they switch cars in the middle of the race....like teenage kids switching go karts during intervals. Hats off to you though RC, you manage to see past all this. I tried a few times, and couldn't.

Yeah they have to switch cars because of the power, but there is a time condition on the change,( I think it's a minute) and they cant go under that time without a penalty. It's to ensure the change is done safely.....and it does bring in another tactic, which came into play big time in the race yesterday. Not all races are as good as the one I just watched, but the tracks are generally twisty street tracks that don't look very wide, yet still there's real overtaking.
Sam Bird did an amazing overtake for third place , just before a smash that brought out yellow , near the end of the race, so that was it, he got third. I like Sam Bird.
And I like Mitch Evans who used to race in GP 2 for Russian Time. He's in FormulaE now racing in one of the Jaguars. He came 4th, great result for him!
And I like John Eric Vergne too. He was second.
I know what you mean about the noise, but after a while I forget as I get into the racing. You could always go ' BRUMMMMM, BRRRUUUUMMMMMMM' very loud whilst watching.

I believe their switching cars days are numbered though, McLaren Tech are supposed to supply them with a battery pack soon which will last the whole race? I remember reading that few months ago.

I think Formula E can only continue to grow. It's the way forward with road cars and a chance to showcase the advancement of electric cars. It attracts top drivers who can't get into F1, it has some really good drivers in it. And now Mercedes. That's a massive boost for the series! Excited! By the way. The world record for a car accelerating from 0 to 60 is held by an electric car built by students called the Verge. It's faster than the Tesla, a Bugatti and the Porsche Hypercar. www.theverge.com/2016/6/22/12004422/fastest-accelerating-electric-car-world-record-formula-student-saeSo the future is rosy for Formula E. they've made massive improvements in speed since the series started.

I just can't. Every time I've tried to watch it. The sound, the drivers jumping out of one car and into another... the race in Brooklyn was literally run on a parking lot.
I'm all for EV but for some reason I'd like to see it run in a real world environment, more like a NASCAR road race with cars you could actually go and buy. And the distance of each race should be long enough that some poorly designed or driver cars would run out of power before the finish line.
It would do a whole lot more good for the technology than these other worldly Formula E cars IMO.

Formula E is the perfect cure for insomnia, I just can't get through a race, sometimes not even as long as the car change
