Seeing this article makes Merc indefensible for me. Niki Lauda hits out at 'repeat offender' Max VerstappenNiki Lauda says Max Verstappen drove "too aggressively" at the start of the Mexican Grand Prix and could have cost Nico Rosberg the title. Verstappen and championship leader Rosberg banged wheels going into Turn 1, forcing the German to miss Turn 2 completely. He rejoined in second and was spared a penalty for gaining an advantage, though he feared the damage could have led to a retirement. Lauda thinks Verstappen needs to be told to calm down. "Nico was clearly in front," Lauda said after the race. "And Verstappen then rams him off the track. This could have cost Nico the championship. It is not acceptable. "It's Verstappen's fault. He drives too aggressively. At some point, he has to realise it." Verstappen was centre of the controversy which unfolded late in the race. Having run wide himself in exactly the same manner to Rosberg while defending third position from Sebastian Vettel, Verstappen refused to give up the position -- later reasoning he should not have been penalised when Rosberg was not. An incensed Vettel launched into an angry tirade on the radio before colliding with Daniel Ricciardo, with the stewards later deciding the German had moved under braking to defend position. _________________________________________________So Nico leading the WDC by 1 point with two races remaining means that he's already lost the WDC...according to Lauda. Because they assume by default there is now way for him to beat Lewis in the next two races?
Now we understand why Lewis had to have his engine failure in Malaysia.

Ok you can say "SHUT UP HAMMER YOU FUCKIN IMBECILE. Maybe he just means on overall terms, Nico will lose these precious points to Lewis and it would hit him in the end."
Then I wonder why they don't apply this logic to Lewis and his many many many failures. With Lewis its always "He can fight back in the next race. There's still many points to be won".
Mercedes are almost openly showing everyone they know full well who the weaker driver is. And how much help he needs to look like he belongs in Mercedes.

Well, if you believe mercs stance on driver equality and that they're hoping and aiming for 1/2 finishes for the remaining races then there will only be one outcome regarding the WDC, merc do not want Lewis to win because the only way for that to happen would be for merc to score less than the 1/2 finishes they want.

I'm hoping Rosberg does win a race in these last two event. It will help to soften the blow, otherwise the entirety of the season will have come down to Lewis' DNF losing 25 points for a race win and giving Rosberg a 3rd (15)instead of a 4th (12) points.
The score today would have been 355 for Lewis, 346 for Rosberg with two races to go.
Despite all of the engine issues, all of the bad start issues, says a lot the gulf between the two.

If Rosberg has to win this WDC, I want Lewis to be leading the Abu Dhabi GP with Rosberg in 4th place...and 2 laps before the end Lewis' engine blows up.
Man that will be worth it...to see how Mercedes handle that.

Nope. Best result for Brazil is Lewis wins, Nico 7th. Points Equal. Results Equal (9 wins, 3 seconds) All Square going into the final round. If Nico want's it, let him earn in ON track.

Lewis & Nico running 1-2 until 5 laps from the end, then gearbox failure for Nico (stuck in 5th or something) he manages to get to the end but has dropped to p7 So equal on points but a 10 place grid drop for Abu Dhabi.
Vettel to tell Bernie, Jean Todt and Christian Horny spice to go Fuck themselves then retire !

If your Merc and Porsche were drowning, which would you save first?
Assuming you have a crane handy.

If your Merc and Porsche were drowning, which would you save first? Assuming you have a crane handy. Last night i had a weird dream (i dont usually remember much about my dreams) that i'd traded my car in for a good deal on a merc, it was a convertible with some sort of hard top. At first i was really pleased with it, then i started noticing things wrong with it, the top was squint and didnt fit properly, then i started noticing the rust in the bodywork, then the holes that had rusted hrough the floor, then worst of all.... it was a 1.2L I was gutted. Edit: oops, meant to quote wb post before that one.

Sound like you bought with your heart instead of with your head... good thing is was only a dream! BTW in America we power our lawn mowers with 1.2L engines.

I'm sure the engine will be fine for all those daily routines.....until the point when you absolutely can't afford for it to fail, like a very important biz meeting, or your wife is in labour, or heading for a long haul road trip....when the engine will spectacularly blow up right in front of packed grandstands
