Hi guys. Especially a question RyRy .
I'm kinda gutted right now. Straight to the point, I have a blog which is currently being designed and almost completed, basically a blog which will be used as as marketing platform to help direct traffic to my main website (also in progress). Now I've chosen 5 tracks to use which will play automatically when you load my blog page.
Out of the 5, I've gotten approval from 3....since we're just using the music for a freakin blog man. I've been following up with the licensing team of Zack Hemsey to use 2 of his tracks for the past two WEEKS and now finally they politely told me to fk off.
Here's the last two emails:
My clarification:
Hi ____,
Appreciate the response, thank you.
I understand where you come from, though the blog would only touch upon politics, the main frame is focused on the goings on in the finance arena. We don't take any sides, or any specific individual - simply a platform with topics that range from general investments, financial management/mismanagement, the lack of general financial education, historical conspiracies to do with control, etc. Politics could be touched upon in these posts but as examples, at most. To give you some context, here are a few topics that we are working on right now
1. Where exactly is Golds final destination?
2. What is the 'Security Council' exactly?
3. Real Estate: How much is “Too much” leverage?
4. Real Estate: Buy to Sell or Buy To Keep?
Hopelessly Enslaved Or Falsely Free?
The Myth of the Middle Class
Psychology of Money: Thinking Too Small
Diversification: The Beautiful Troll In Investment
The Imagination that is Money
World Without Capitalism
As you see, its pretty general in context. We've chosen 5 tracks for this blog to play automatically upon loading, 2 from Zack Hemseys work. If you wish for the artists/song name to not be displayed, we'd gladly comply. Our purpose in choosing these 5 tracks are to help set the mood of this blog - we aim to achieve an enigmatic/underground feel - and the content to be fun and thought provoking.
Your consideration is highly appreciated!
Thanks,
And the fucked up response I got today which ruined my night:
Thanks for the additional information.
It doesn’t look like there would be any political concerns on our end. However, if the intent is to upload / stream the songs directly to / from the blog (as opposed to embedding an upload within a specific blog post), then that is not something we could authorize, since it has the potential to be perceived as an endorsement of the site and the advice contained therein. Since we have no idea what the specifics of the content will be (initially or in the future), it is not a prospect we can consider.
Hope that all makes sense.
Best,
Okay, I KINDA see where they're coming from....but seriously, would people really care about the music and think its actually REPRESENTING the content? Since I made it clear that its just generic info on investments and economy and such, and there won't be instances which could bring about conflicts of interests.
Now you could tell me why dont you quit whining and just pick 2 other songs. That's a solution, but I really really love these two tracks and I even worked out an order to play these 5 songs so they blend well into each other during the entire duration. And 1 of the tracks starts first.... 'Vengeance'. And the other is 'Graven Image'.
Is there a way to alter the tune a certain way....not affecting it too much, but rerecording it where the sound/pace changes slightly. And they can't sue my ass if they ever find out I have gone ahead and used it? For example, speeding it up 1.5x (as an example I dont want to do this) or other options which any sound engineers out there might suggest?
I ADMIT I'M DESPERATE for these 2 tracks!
