A fool, but a fool willing to make it right. Lately it seems as if hiring a Russian driver is code for we're looking for Russian sponsor money.

Williams are sounding confident. They say Mercedes are ahead, Ferrari not so much. They are thinking they can battle for second place. Like Merc, they haven't been chasing the fast times, preferring to test parts when the track is optimum. m.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/123092

If F1 used long oval track, Williams would be set! Hopefully they spent the winter working hard on improving cornering and handling for slow and medium tracks.

They seemed mightily comfortable during winter testing. We'll know soon enough but the battle this year will be for second place, I don't think Ferrari will go unchallenged for the spot.

According to Felip Massa, Williams are awaiting a new nose and front wing which is yet to pass the crash test...........
10:46 Felipe Massa has confirmed that Williams are still awaiting a new front-wing configuration for their new car.
"The new nose is something we are waiting to have along with a front wing," the Brazilian told Sky Sports at the end of pre-season testing.
"I hope we can use it soon – but we have to wait and it needs to pass the crash test. But we know that when we use the new nose and the new wing it will be another improvement in the car and in the direction we want to take car. We should be competitive but how much we don’t know."

I've never really rated him. He rates himself very highly though. ( sorry Stoney) I'd have thought Williams had other options.

Isnt he under Mercs wing? (Is that who he races for in DTM?) Maybe they have done it as part of an agreement with Merc?

Yes I think he might be. Could be that.

More planning in case Nico's contract negotiations go sideways?

More planning in case Nico's contract negotiations go sideways? Are you saying you think Mercs back up plan is Paul "The Personality of Andy Murray" DiResta...? Get the heck out of town!

Now, it's just adding heft to the negotiations. No different than what McLaren was during with Magnussen and Button.

Magnassen is acceptable, Wherlein is acceptable, Max is very acceptable . But Di Resta!

Oh man I much prefer Nico "Cokehead" Rosberg rather than Paul "The Mouth" Di Resta.

I don't have a preference one way or another for the guy. Nothing outwardly noticeable, I think a lot of it may come from being young and boisterous, the driving didn't stand out.
