Strange that only in 4 out of 16 years has he had a sniff at the front, yet he is now suddenly deciding that the possibility of a top podium is his only motivation? What about the paycheck from BAR? What about declaring earlier he wanted to stay at McLaren because they were gonna get better?
I didnt expect Button to leave with any dignity, but this could get messier

Well a rumour going around.. I'm sure they're false but I actually want them to be true.
Jenson Button is potentially going to Manor next year as his sponsorship value will help Manor out enormously and if they are going to get a Mercedes Engine and maybe their 2015 chassis next year then we could well see Jenson in a Manor Mercedes car fighting in with some of the guys from P3-P8 in a decent car.
Mercedes would be taking a huge risk giving Manor their Engine & 2015 chassis because they could see or think of something that Mercedes haven't and actually be faster than Mercedes.

Don't think that will happen, a year's worth of development in the sport is an eternity. I'd be scared for the other teams with a Mercedes junior team. In 2014 when McLare did have a Mercedes engine Jenson was 4th one race!

Would Jenson go to Manor? thats exatcly what he said all along, that he didnt want to end up at the back and would rather go out of F1. Also I am sure Manor or anyone else prefers a driver coming along with hard currency from a sponsor rather than come along 'looking appealing' to sponsors. No new sponsors ever joined McLaren just for Jenson so they wont at Manor
However Jenson should just pay Manor direct for the drive, he has the cash after his McLaren heist. And he has the experience to help them beat Merc as a customer or at least beat maybe Williams and Force India
Button has not yet excelled for his cleverness at picking the right deals or teams so far, appearing to have a one track mind toward th biggest paycheck then worrying after about the car

You never know Jenson might be able to get Brawn back into the sport! :O

Brawn never liked the guy even though he brought the trophy home, when Button requested to leave for McLaren Brawn almost laid out the get-lost mat for him. Funny way to treat a "Champ" huh?

Well, Button says he hasn't agreed on staying with McLaren yet but Ron says he has... now Lotus are thrown in on the mix as they have a spare seat and would be more than willing to pay that 6million for an experienced driver.
Button did say months ago that McLaren would be his last team he drives for, We all know that Button is trying to get a longer contract with the team as he still believes that they have a chance and to be fair to them, based on the fact they are a year behind and aren't as far behind like Ferrari were last year so next year sure they won't be challenging for wins (shouldn't be) but 2017 they might be in a decent shape.
You should never discount Honda, for sure their Engine sucked the last time they were in the sport and their engine isn't very good at the moment because they went very very aggressive with design but considering the fact they are actually by far the most reliable engine manufacturer in the world I'm sure they'll get there eventually.

I've seen the little rumors of Button perhaps in the mix for a Renault seat. Hope he gets it, the best driver on the grid by far deserves a better race seat.
