Nice qualifying session indeed! Think we're going to have this level of intensity through the year. Ferrari are the real deal competitors and their car has loads of pace. Mercedes can nip it in qualifying but then they have to stay ahead during the race or else it's all for naught. BTW I was miles off the pole time. I went with a 1.33.227 if I recall. 1.5 seconds off. Hope you guys did better.

Pole Lap: Side by Sides: That's very very harsh, seems like they're trying to set a precedent. If you look at the onboards both drivers lifted quite a lot and were well aware of the incident so there really wasn't any risk to anyone's lives. The stewards said that to satisfy the rule they basically have to completely abandon their laps. streamable.com/gg2kaLovely shots of the car, they do look impressively fast and so damn grippy!

Nico got to keep his pole time last year under identical circumstance.

Nico was the golden boy last year. They changed lots of things after he transgressed . He got away with them.

No safety car starts under wet conditions this year. This is great news IMO... much more exciting!

It's a dice roll at the moment whether it rains or not, it looks like the lowest chance of precipitation will be during the race window. Maybe changeable conditions? Or they go out on Inters or Wets and then it's a race like Brazil last year, who has the cojones to switch to slicks and promptly crash out.

No safety car starts under wet conditions this year. This is great news IMO... much more exciting! Well, they will still START under the safety car and the laps will count, but when it pulls in they will line up on the grid and use the lights. Considering nobody has tried a standing start in the wet in these cars, it'll be something to see!

Under an hour! Who's awake? Who's alarm will go off shortly? Track is damp, but doesn't look "Brazil". First brave soul on SS could do well... it's a "Button" kinda day

Does the race start in half hour? I'm a bit out of it this weekend being all careful with my eyes. Btw I think I sort of saved this forums bacon in the timing thing for the competition...I had a 1:31:5 down - not all heroes wear capes.

So... race is NOT declared wet! Big Balls time! Who will start with slicks? Who will play if safe? Who will be the first to spin? (oh wait, that was Bottas on the way to the grid apparently!)
