F1 racing magazine has compiled a list....in order, of the top 25 most influential people in F1 now that Ecclestone has relinquished the role. F1 consulted senior figures and the same names came up repeatedly. They kicked them around and settled in the following list. There's a amall write up about each person and why they're in the list. It will take too long to type them all but if you want to know about anyone in particular, let me know and I'll post it.
Here's the list...
1. Chase Carey 2. Sergio Marchionne 3. Dieter Zetsche 4. Dietrich Mateschitz 5. Jean Todt 6. Toto Wolf 7. Ross Brawn 8. Lewis Hamilton 9. Sheikh Salman bin Hamas bin ISA Al Khalifa ( stupid name) 10. Helmut Marko 11.Carlos Ghosn 12. Sean Bratches 13.Sach Woodward-Hill 14. Charlie Whiting 15. Zak Brown 16. Fernando Alonso 17. Christian Horner 18. Andy Cowell 19. Claire Williams 20. Lewis Hamilton more influential than Newy & Whiting? Vettel has no say? Someone listens to Helmut Marko? I think the writers are on drugs

I think there's a difference between influence and power.

Well as luck would have it, I have the F1 mag with me! So I can give you the write ups of the people you've mentioned. LEWIS HAMITON- The fastest driver in the world and the sport's biggest star, triple champion Lewis Hamilton is the only person in Formula 1 who actually transcends it. The son of a former British Rail IT expert from a council house in Stevenage to global fame, mixing with pop stars and movie legends and counting several of them among his friends. With 4.2 m twitter followers, he massively outstrips his colleagues' appeal- Fernando Alonso is next with 2.4 m followers- and thatonly heightens influence that would anyway be huge given his monumental talent. He has deliberately changed his image over the years to become a tattooed edge 'street' superstar, and now has major fashion brands clamouring for his endorsement. TOTO WOLFF - he's charming, friendly and open with the media- up to a point- but there i a streak of ruthlessness behind the smile. And that was evidenced by his effective sacking over the winter Of Padie Lowe, the man who has lead design as Mercedes dominated F1. ( sacked? He was sacked?) As head of Mercedes Motorsport, Toto Wolff is not only boss of F1's most successful team, he also wields major influence as engine supplier to two others. Williams and Force India are both Strategy Group members, and are unlikely to vote against the interests of the company that provides them with the cheapest and best engine in F1. As Mercedes' representative, Wolff's job is to wield the political power. ROSS BRAWN - one of the most successful engineering leaders in F1 history has re- emerged from a sabbatical as F1's managing director of motorsports- the man charged with creating a new F1 fit for the next decade amid a changing media and sporting landscape. It's a big job, but as he won seven world titles with Benetton and Ferrari, another with his own team and then set Mercedes on their current course, it's hard to think of anyone better qualified. Brawn has signposted his general direction- he wants a "purer and simpler" F1. The DRS overtaking aid is definitely in his sights, as is car design that facilitates racing. His toughest task is likely to be a new engine formula post 2020 and squaring the circle of something that satisfies the demands of the manufacturers for road-relevance and efficiency and those if many fans who want a more satisfying noise.

I think the arguments we used to get about F1's biggest star driver are settled. There are some serious overcooked & saggy asses left laying in ditches by the wayside.

That list is just pure garbage, speculative beyond belief.

I thought the comments they wrote about (,those three I posted) where spot on. I haven't read all of the comments.
But the ranking.........that can only be subjective, there is no measure. They said they consulted senior figures and the same names kept coming up. Then I guess they ranked them as they saw fit.
