Special mention to the Force India pair, yet again what a strong race from both of them. Ocon the only decent rookie and hope he gets a better ride, in fact both him and Perez deserve faster rides! They're always so close together and FI keeps up their mantle of most efficient (with resources at disposal) team in F1.

Sir Patrick Stewart in the Mercedes garage, making it so. The race was over after the first lap, great drive by Hamilton, grand slam with the pole, win, fastest lap and leading every lap so Vettel is the driver of the day for sure. Force India maybe not acustomed to being in the position of having two cars fighting for a podium shot themselves in the foot today I fear. Ocon would have challenged Ricciardo when Perez couldn't. Some interesting conversations in their team van today. Kimi once again being the supportive number two driver, even before his mysterious brake issue, I wish they simply came out and openly gave the order instead of trying to maintain the facade as they do. Arrivabene with the straightest of faces in an interview this weekend, we're Ferrari we'd never switch positions to allow our number one driver to gain more points. With a straight face, I shit you not. Has McLaren finished a race this year? Stroll delivers on his home GP, good drive by the young man today, good for him. Maybe it will be a way to build from here.

Frontrunner SOFT! Currently 3:50am and I've just gotten up to watch! At least Monday is a public holiday for Queenie Last year I was battling to keep my eyes open during the Canadian and US GPs, I can't fight it anymore, getting older i guess. Sleep wins Although I look forward to the highlights, Surprised to see no Ferrari on the podium.

Vettel won DOTD what a joke.
Ocon was robbed off this most pointless accolade.

DOTD is as useless as a fly screen door on a submarine. I look forward to when 5 world championship points gets awarded to the DOTD each round.

Let's have a look at Vettel's "Super" charge shall we?
laps 1-4 : Sitting in 5th. Realises there's a bit missing, pits, comes out 18th. That's where we'll start...
lap 11 - Moves to P15 (Palmer & Ericsson Pit, Verstappen retires) lap 13 - Moves to P14 (overtakes Wehrlein) lap 14 - Moves to P13 (overtakes Grosjean) lap 17 - Moves to P11 (overtakes Vandoorne & Kvyat) lap 18 - Moves to P10 (overtakes Hulkenberg) lap 20 - Moves to P9 (overtakes Stroll) lap 21 - Moves to P8 (overtakes Magnussen) lap 27 - Moves to P7 (overtakes Alonso) lap 41 - Moves to P6 (Kimi pits) Lap 49 - Drops to P7 (pits) Lap 60 - Moves to P6 (Kimi develops a problem for 3 laps) Lap 66 - Moves to P5 (Overtakes Ocon) Lap 68 - Moves to P4 (Overtakes Perez)
I'll give him those last 2, mainly the Ocon move because it was just well executed. but the rest are like picking off the low hanging fruit!

He's got the best car of the field, picking up also rans and then they have his teammate move over for him. It's funny because the fervor on the interwebz, you'd think it was the greatest drive ever. The whole DOTD thing is becoming laughable, given the drives we saw yesterday, Ocon, Alonso, Stroll, and hell Ricciardo holding off a much more powerful F1 at bay. Here's the capper... Grossjean drives 69 laps on the super softs... but the Tiffosi are a bit excitable this year, it's understandable given the long drought. I think it's more of a making sure Hamilton doesn't get it thing.

We'd have never gotten something like this with the little old git still hanging around. Anyways, nice highlight. It's remarkable how ham fisted a move Vettel tried with Ocon, nearly cost both of them the race. Thankfully the rookie had enough sense to take the runoff avoiding the catastrophe.
