Missed another great qualifying....sigh. It was either a long awaited double date or qual and I couldn't do both. Congrats again King Lewis, what a lap that must've been. Hope for a good start tmr.

This pole and Canada are very much what people talk about when they refer to "senna-esq" performance. Coming out and blowing away your teammate and your rivals like that, just elevating to the next level. I was watching the sector times come in and just thinking "wow! this is special!"

Bookmarkd this clip from Ted's qualifying notebook. He talk a little about the clarification from the FiA regarding teams burning oil or teams adding ingredients to the oil designed to increase the combustibility of it. Ferrari fans have been rabid of late with accusations but the smart one have stay quiet... Because you know, you don't shit where you eat.
Apparently Ferrari's going to struggle in Q3, perhaps the season battle will be over before it even heated up properly. I'd rather this not be the case, but a second off to the nearest Ferrari today and 1.3 to Vettel, granted Vettel is saddled with an old PU because his new on from Canada was acting up. But rule clarification goes out, and we get today's results. Maybe half of that second was down to Lewis Hamilton's special lap but damn.

I was watching in a bar, I Thought his first sector was equal to or slightly slower than Bottas. I was cursing that red flag thinking 'No! Not again!' But then the second sector time came and it was WOW! Yes, that was a special one

AMUS ArticleA bit of a follow up from yesterday's qualifying. This oil burning thing, I think Ferrari's qualifying will be noticeably different in the coming rounds. Time will tell.

Stats to fill the boredom waiting time.... IF drivers had hooked up all their best sectors, this WOULD have been the top 10 Pos (Actual) | Driver | Time | Diff | 1 (1) | L. Hamilton | 1:40.485 | - | 2 (2) | V. Bottas | 1:40.958 | +0.473 | 3 (5) | M. Verstappen | 1:41.492 | +1.007 | 4 (3) | K. Raikkonen | 1:41.563 | +1.078 | 5 (4) | S. Vettel | 1:41.605 | +1.12 | 6 (7) | E. Ocon | 1:42.054 | +1.569 | 7 (10) | D. Ricciardo | 1:42.059 | +1.574 | 8 (5) | S. Perez
| 1:42.111 | +1.626 | 9 (8) | L. Stroll | 1:42.139 | +1.654 | 10 (9) | F. Massa | 1:42.586 | +2.101 |
So there you have it... real pace from Vestappen was certainly there! That would have been an interesting grid! Side note: Funny things seen all over the different sites in the past 24hrs includes an awful BIG silence from many Ferrari fans... but not this one guy I saw, he proudly stated "Of course [insert insulting name for Lewis] beat Bottas! Merc do not give their drivers equal equipment! Typical, useless unless his team help him by sacrificing the other driver!!! Anyway FORZA FERRARI! Vettel to win!" *ahem* Mr Pot, meet Mr Kettle. Now... on with the race!

That was really nice of Hamilton on the radio, asking if everything is okay with Bottas. I wonder why, is it because he likes Bottas, wants/needs his teammate to do good, wants his team to do good or was wondering if it's a car issue or not.
Hamilton then later on after at the safety car backed up the entire pack tons to try and get his teammate round toi the back of the pack. Really cool of him. Good teamwork.

Vettel's emotions got the better of him there, shouldn't of done it... but hey just adds more spice to the HAM v VET 2017 fight.
I'm enjoying the chaos at Baku so far.

Road Rage... Vintage Vettel circa 2013-15. SHOULD be: 30s penalty 1 Penalty Point 5 Grid Drop for Austria
BUT He's in a Ferrari, so it'll be a 10s penalty to Hamilton.

Vettel's going to get a race ban for that driving into him... Maldonado was the last guy we saw do that. Yeah, race ban for sure on top of the DSQ.

Vettel! crazy guy! Lewis didn't brake test and then Vettel drove into him! If they don't penalise Vettel for this I think I'll......I don't know why I'll do! ( I'm getting drunk in a bar and just realised they have free wifi...though the man did try to charge me €25 ) But Vettel deliberately drove into him! That's as bad as what Maldonado did! WORSE! Cos it's in an actual race!
