Suzuka International Racing CourseNumber of Laps: 53 Circuit Length: 5.807KM Race Distance: 307.471KM Lap Record:1:31.540 by Kimi Räikkönen (2005)
In my opinion, there is no sexier course in all of F1. If this was in a forest somewhere in the Ardennes, it would be everything. This course has every flowing French Curve you could throw at is. It reminds me of a an old Porsche 911 or a a perfect ass where you just want trace every curve with your fingertips and then place your hand and keep it there.
...anyway, I think the lap record will tumble here this weekend.

Somehow you managed to bring Porsche into an F1 race thread.

Well that could be a very tanned Japanese ass....which is fitting anywhere.

Ruh-Roh rumblings already. Doubt Ferrari would tip its hand until Saturday but asking if they could replace it as a freebie is not a good sign.

Yeah, I'm actually glad for that. I'm still waiting for a proper Vettel vs. Hamilton race and with the season winding down we've not yet gotten one. The only one Baku, Vettel managed to turn into a sausage fest. I will be so pissed off if we don't get a proper head to head.

Well... 2 days out and FP1/FP2 look like they might be non-events or at least no indication for the weekend, with 24mm of rain forecast between 12pm - 6pm local time!
But then Saturday and Sunday look fine and dry and around 27°C

I recall Coulthard used to be really good in qualifying here, due to his style of driving. This was a place Mika almost always struggled to get the better of him.

Yeah pole is going to be 1:28.113 is my prediction, I think it's conservative. Wouldn't be surprised if they dip into the 27s.

Vettle with a nice lap on the Softs just .042 behind. That was one on max setting though, it looked as if he was pushing it as much as it would go.

Mine was 88.355. I think Raceegg or racecock was very similar to yours Wß just on the cusp of dipping into the 87's . Not seen or heard much about practise yet, only what's on here.

I think it'll be mid 1:27's personally; depending on the weather.

Suzuka has the best flow of any circuit on the planet. Apologies to you Silverstone fans. Driver | Average Stint time | No. Laps | Tire 1. Vettel 1.32,758 4 supersoft 2. Räikkönen 1.33,190 5 supersoft 3. Hamilton 1.34,179 10 supersoft 4. Verstappen 1.34,545 10 supersoft 5. Ricciardo 1.34,734 8 supersoft 6. Grosjean 1.35,011 5 supersoft 7. Vandoorne 1.35,690 4 supersoft Guess who was running on light fuel? I think this could be a Mercedes 1-2, Ferrari look to be exploring alternate strategies and if they're doing that it might be because there will be grid penalties. That would be a shame for the hopes of a head to head on track battle. I guess we'll have to stay tuned.
