Can't they just fly the old one back to Brackley to 'check it over'?

This is a blow to Lewis....now they have 2 Ferraris to fuck around with him at the start, unless Verslappen is around to slap Vettel around a bit more.

I think that we may be looking at Ferrari going for a 3 stop and Mercedes for a two stopper. Definitely for Bottas given his grid penalty.

Bottas HAS to interfere with the Ferraris if possible. Nightmare for the strategists. They'll need so many scenarios to think about depending on how things pan out and what Ferrari do.

I think Hamilton won't need too much help this weekend. Thinking along the lines of Silverstone.

Mercedes appear to have brought the fight back to Ferrari & Red Bull, 1st and 2nd and 3 tenths clear of 3rd place Vettel in practice 3 is normally a good sign for a good qualifying session. Notes for Qualifying: Palmer & Alonso might give their teammates a tow because they both have grid penalties for new power unit elements, Alonso was testing it out with Stoffel just like they did in Spa & Monza where it worked nicely on both occasions; granted they're easier tracks to do it on but still. There is a chance Raikkonen might have car issues or a DNF in the race as his gearbox or engine might have a little shock damage because of the load he put through it with his crash in FP3; the same goes for Vettel who put the same stresses through the engine/gearbox in Malaysia. If Mercedes think they have the 1, 2 or Vettel has issues and doesn't set a Q3 time we might see Hamilton purposely not go flat out so that his teammate can get pole position as Bottas has 5 place grid penalty. Red Bull for some reason seemed well off the pace which is surprising considering how well they have been doing lately, I can only assume they're running very heavy or something because Force India were only 1 tenth slower, Renault 3 tenths slower and McLaren 4 tenths slower. It's worth noting aswell that Ferrari tend to do better in the hot races and Mercedes tend to do better in the cool races, this race is likely to be a very cool race which is perfect weather for Mercedes as you can see:

Red flag in Q1 thanks to Grosjean. Which gives another pun! We had Carlost on Friday and Grosgone today Oh, and Perez was out for a Stroll which might see him in trouble!

I did say a a1:28.113 would be conservative, but I didn't think it would be off by almost a second. Holy sheep dip batman that lap was just insane. Actually seeing these new gen cars around Suzuka, the esses, the change of direction. Man how can you help not fall in love with the sport all over again watching it?
F1 magic that pole lap. Just magic.

Thanks for that video Wß. As I suspected the internet here was too poor to watch so I followed it on autosport live. Will have to do same tomorrow for the race, so up at 5.30 I'll be a lonely little figure sitting in the dark outside reception watching the autosport feed. Lol. The things we do!!

What an absolute BEAST. And I mean the combo of that car and Lewis. Talk about a comeback.
Hope Vettel puts Raikkonens gearbox to good use tomorrow and keeps up with Lewis so we're entertained.

This is a really nice chart RyRy kudos to whomever put it together, and much respek if it was you. It speaks volumes in what we've seen. Actually the only anomaly to the temperature trend would have been Baku but then again with the loooooong multiple straights it would have given the tires a chance to cool down on each lap.

So Palmer is out after this race.
I think Grosjean should be the next to get his ass kicked out, his bitching and moaning coupled with his dumbass driving (crashing like a rookie in FP) is really getting too much.

I looked the onboard with Mag Q1 first run, the car is just undriveable in S1. Kevin had to manhandle his car to made it. But yeah another long night in the Haas garage, also few hundred thousand of dollars from Gene's pocket lol.
Grosjean's days are counted unfortunately.
