Apparently Vettel would have pitted if it wasn't for Raikkonens incident, Raikkonen has again got Vettel the win.

I think it's been Mercedes handing the two wins to Vettel. I may have been harsh to Bottas, because that race was his to win, but reading about the strategy, I think Mercedes blew the call and assumed that Vettel would need to pit hence, the instruction to not push him.
If they'd pushed him, he would have run out of tire and Vettel would have had five or six laps to make up about 15 to 17 seconds and having to overtake Hamilton to get any chance at the win.

You could say botched pit stops handed Ferrari two race wins. First the Haas bringing out the VSC and securing Vettel’s win. Second kimis, pushing Vettel into a one stop and securing the win.

Mercedes' conservativeness has lost them the two victories.
Lewis summed it up best, don't know where I read it but he said at the end of every race Mercedes should have almost no 'change' to play with. And in Melbourne for example he finished the race with $20 to spare, the same in Bahrain. Ferrari played all their change and had nothing left at the end of the GP in Bahrain, which is the right way to win a race..aka depleting all your available resources (pace) for the race distance.
Mercedes really needs to up their game. They're playing their strategy in a way that they're hoping to be the fastest cars at the very end of the race which means they've sacrificed speed/time in another phase of the race and Ferrari is taking full advantage of this.

The good thing about Mercedes is that they'll only make a mistake once. The problem is that there's 1000 ways of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and Mercedes seems to be going down the checklist to make sure they make them all. It's been their biggest failing with Hamilton really, they've got a guy that can do what 99% of drivers can't. And they consistently play it safe with him. Like I said, they won't make the same type of mistake again. 993 more ways to go.

Any enemy of his enemy is a friend. And Verstappen is the biggest threat to his career this season. So far though, he's proving to be a lame threat. And Ricciardo wants to keep him there mentally.
