I'm going to take a guess... 2018 won't be anywhere near as interesting as 2017. I suspect it'll be fairly boring however the long long straight should help with the overtaking issues that we've spotted numerous times so far this season.

As I have said for a while, if you want more overtaking you need to make the cars narrower. Maybe remove 2 of the wheels, make them a bit shorter, perhaps put the driver on top of the engine... yeah, that would certainly increase the amount of overtaking!
But joking aside, the race still has potential to be exciting. The mdfield is TIGHT. Even Sauber, based on speed trap results last 3 races, will be able to catch up and threaten by the end of the straight. Teams like Renault and McLaren will lose any advantage gained through the old town section. Up front, it should be a good fight. Red Bull have the car to catch the Mercedes and Ferraris through the tigheter sections, can they hold on (and will DRS be enough) for them down that straight?

I'd have no clue what a GP bike would do around Monaco, would they be faster than an F1 car?

Not a chance, they can't turn fast enough, they'd lose too much time in the slow corners. Turn 1 would also be stupidly dangerous because the bike would likely skid out into the wall on hot laps! lol @wb I just spotted your edit.... you and your girls hahaha

Only saw the last few minutes of FP1 but looking around the web I just spotted this. Talk about putting lipstick on a pig.

There were some good designs put forward on Twitter, they had designed them and made them look decent. There was also some good suggestions to make mandatory text formatting on the HALO. - 44 HAM

My biggest gripe with the halo besides it being butt ugly is that you can't see anything in the suspension or the wing as they're working around the track. There's a lot of detail we've lost.

A huge part of the issue is that they didn't test different camera positions during winter testing. They should have crash tested a halo with a camera dead centre, allowing for an awesome front down "driver" view, but now will have to wait and see if it can be introduced later. As for the graphic, I think it looks nice. I prefered it to the info bar we've had the last couple of years.

Like Dogued said, the problem is the lack of the HALO cam... they have a mounting position ready for it but for some unknown reason haven't tested it in testing and haven't tested it in the race weekends. I can only assume they are having an issue with providing power to the camera. The HALO cam would allow us to see a correctly centered camera shot of the car and would allow us to see the front wing & suspension. The best CAM would still be one right on top of the rollhoop as this would let us see the car, part of the driver, the front wing, suspension and the track..

A well placed cam in the centre strut of the halo would be a great "drivers eye" cam

I'm really excited for this race, well... more than normal anyway, should be a good one.
Also the wind and possible gusts up to 60kph or more for the race will make things a little tricky for drivers, can't wait.

Yeah, same. I really love this circuit, especially after the cracker of a race it produced last year.
I'm out during the day, so I'll have to catch up on it during the evening.

There was a periscope stream going earlier and it looks fucking windy, hopefully it fucks with a few drivers today!
