I think Canada will be a fantastic race! Why? Well because it has a way of making itself such an event. This is another driver's circuit but you can overtake here, high power, finding the right level of downforce for the straight while keeping the car turning through sector one.
Always excited to see it on the calendar, always happy that it's my "home" race. I also hear that Hamilton like this circuit.

We need Mercedes to bring home a dominant 1-2 here. NO EXCUSES. 1-2 OR BUST!

So who will be in the wall of champions? My top two choices are Verstappen and Grosjean.
Any other choices? I’d be tempted to throw in Vettel if he finds himself under pressure.

Stroll, Grosjean or Vandorne for me. As for the race, I think Hamilton should wrap this one up but I think Vettel will come 2nd. I don't really see Red Bull being anywhere unless they can setup their car to be significantly faster through S1 and get a good exit every time at the hairpin.

Renault planned an engine upgrade. I guess they will be competitive enough on Sunday if not on Saturday, Max was already fast last year. Time will tell.
The speed at turn 1 and 2, that was smooth as hell too A lot of people said Malaysia was Lewis' best lap last year, but this one, China, Silverstone were better for me and more enjoyable.

Insert Vettel in place of Ricciardo.

I'd be quite happy for Ric to get the other podium

So this is going to be weighing a little on Kimi's mind when in Montreal next weekend.

It's pretty clear something happened, the intent on both sides is something for the legal system to figure out now that lawyers and charges are involved. It would be dumb to let this come out if they had any intent on settling though, this may well wind up in court.

I think she’s on the make. And Kimi isnt having any of it. Something may have happened.. both drunk, messing around , then two years later she squeals and wants money because he’s rich. That’s not fair. Women aren’t pathetic bystanders to life. Feminsts who think this is ok make me sick.

Not grosjean, my prediction for him would be to bounce on the chicanes at either turns 3/4 or 8/9 and head into the wall, or possibly just lose it on a straight. Verstappen possibly.

FIA adds third DRS zone for Canadian Grand PrixThe official track map for this weekend’s race shows a new zone running between turns seven and eight. The detection point for the new zone is at the exit of turn five. The new zone is in addition to the two existing zones which run from turns 12 to 13 and along the pit straight. These are triggered by the same detection point at the exit of turn nine.AMuS According to Renault Ricciardos MGU-K can be used again despite Monaco issue. So he will avoid grid penalty at Montreal. Marko confident Red Bull can challenge Mercedes & Ferrari with low tyre deg, good traction & new Renault engine. Red Bull may not use F1 engine upgrade for Canadian GPWe have yet to confirm the introduction, because the mileage is not the same across all cars, so we will see where and when exactly we will introduce that new spec. We are not sure it's actually the best to introduce it in all six cars, in particular Red Bull. It's mainly in the ICE [internal combustion engine] that we can expect more power. This has to be the focus, and it will be the focus for all of this year, and maybe next year. - Abitebull
Haas will have its first round of major updates in Canada
We’ve got quite significant changes – front wing, floor, and all the bargeboard area – we’ve made those updates. - Guenther Steiner

I'm all for spicing thing up but Montreal is not a circuit that needs any spicing and is not what anyone would call a difficult circuit to overtake on. A 3rd DRS zone is a laughable IMO.

No new PU for Mercedes powered cars in Canada. The team was planning an upgrade for all of their team but an 11th hour decision to cancel and shoot for the French GP was made. Apparently there's an issue with new PU's qualifying mode that needs to be sorted out.
Wonder if we'll se a blown Merc PU this weekends and on who's car. Nail biting stuff already and we haven't even gotten the Thursday driver interviews yet.

Oh God.....cars are going to stream past on the back straight and there is zero chance for the guy who was just passed to even think about doing something in the first corner. What a freakin idiotic move.
