Well considering this was supposed to be a "rubbish" race and overtaking was impossible.... it became a good race.
I still think Lewis should have stayed out and gone on US to grab the fastest lap, but really it was a fully managed race for his car... no stress on any parts, nice and easy cruise to the finish. Pole, led every lap, win. Not quite the Grande Chelem I thought, but close enough!
Great from Leclerc, surely that's a 99% chance at Ferrari for 2019 now! Decent recovery from Vettel (and Bottas with a damaged car), but he screwed that one and should get a penalty points hit or rep mark for it. Also think that 5s for a collision should be 10s. RoGro Moan caused that stack at the start for Ocon. he hit him and, on replay, I'd suggest caused a puncture which slide Ocon across into the path of Gasly who had no room. 3 Points on his license in my mind. He also is SUCH a bitch, moaning about Bottas when it was a good clean move. Please PLEASE replace him for 2019! Ricciardo in a Haas would work for me. Solid from Renault without being anything special, but you feel that if Haas and Torro Rosso had better drivers (and luck sometimes), Renault would be lucky to score a point.

I agree, I can't stand Moanjean now....he's that guy you just want to punch in the face before he opens his mouth.

Does anyone else find it highly annoying that cars are just flying off the track taking handy shortcuts, this place is like a parking lot. They call this a 'race track'? +1 here freakin cars everywhere on the first lap making their own track, yes there were incidents but some of those drivers look to take full advantage of the situation. The circuit could do with gravel traps, grass or something. Nevers Magny Cours is probably my preferred French GP venue due to the sealed runoffs at Paul Ricard.

More of an issue than Vettel's contact with Bottas was his hitting Grosjean and causing him to drive off line. The one incident all year that wasn't his fault. I agree, just too wide of a runoff with zero penalty to pay for it.

I love it when he gets those driver of the day trophies, his mantle must be full of them! Vettel has more driver of the day trophies than anyone, more than Schumacher, more than Fangio, more than Senna!

People predicted it to be a boring procession... But it wasn't.
Good return to the calendar for Paul Ricard. Not missing Magny Cours.

I think it was more to do with the differing tire strategies in addition to some people then pitting on the first lap which mixed things up even more. Without the first lap incident I doubt we'd have seen anything different than Canada. I wonder if they'll keep the chicane for next year.

I wonder if they'll keep the chicane for next year. They will. The DRS leading to the Chicane did exactly what it was supposed to do and created most of the overtaking chances.

The only car I really accept having to go over the run off a the first corner was Max as he really did have nowhere else to go. He couldn't turn left.
I don't have too much of an issue with the runoff areas here; they did excactly what they were supposed to with slowing down the cars when they crashed. The only thing I would like to maybe see added is bigger/actual curbing on the track limits to stop the liberties taken at a few corners.

Fonzi: "I hope he has damage"
After Vettel simply drove around him and made him look stupid. What a salty tit.

Seeing the race again and spent time reviewing the start, I'm 100% sure that Bottas and Hamilton talked about how they'd counter the start with Vettel on the softer compound sure to attack the way he did. Pretty brilliant actually.
