- Mercedes is looking very stable and good on its tyres, although they do admit that the supersofts are overheating fast after 1-2 laps. - Ferrari are blistering their tyres once again, the only team to blister their tyres in these sessions and in quite a big way. - Red Bull are clearly focused on their long run pace and their car looks decent although it looks a bit too oversteery. - Force India look very strong so far, car looks stable and fast. - Sauber, Toro Rosso, Renault & Haas... no idea who's where, they all look very close! - McLaren... marginally faster than Williams. The McLaren looks good on track it just can't do the laptimes. - The supersofts look like they'll go off very fast, I wouldn't be surprised if Mercedes try and qualify on the softs for Q2 because the softs look a very very good race tyre and they have the pace to get through comfortably. It should easily be a 1 stop unless teams blister their tyres badly (Ferrari) hopefully it rains to spice this race up. Check out this incident... streamable.com/kvw6a the worst thing is even in FP2 Gasly did the same sort of thing against Bottas where he was going slow on the racing line into the chicane. Also... streamable.com/ok4rk ahaha, Hamilton having a good time One last thing, Mercedes are annihilating teams in the speedtraps but they are losing time in the esses so I wonder if they'll add a bunch of downforce/wing for qualli/race

Is it only me who thinks the colour scheme on this Pirelli mock-up would look great as a race car?

Q1: - Impressive by Stroll, managed to get out of Q1... good job! - Toro Rosso looked like they were struggling at first but finally came out with some decent laps. - Renault looking all over the place, both drivers are wildly different sector times. - McLaren... what a yoke. - Ericcson, that's why you deserve to be replaced. streamable.com/7rxu7- Leclerc, as per usual he did a fantastic lap managing to actually get P6 in Q1. Q2: - As expected Mercedes running the softs, great laps by both drivers especially Bottas who had been nowhere all weekend. - Ferrari doing a decent job, but on the supersofts they couldn't beat Mercedes... - Red Bull only 6 tenths behind Vettel, not too bad given their race pace they should be decent in the race. - Force India doing a great job as per usual. - Toro Rosso both through, perfect timing for the rain! - Haas, Sauber, Renault all somewhat caught out with the rain after not getting the best out of their car on their first lap. - I feel sorry for Danny Ric, another failure with the car... Just look at his reaction: streamable.com/91d9p streamable.com/mzc28- Leclerc is starting in P11, I think that could be good for tomorrow because if it's dry the softs should be a good starting tyre for Leclerc. streamable.com/qc7dgQ3: - Mercedes nailed the tyre choice, got a lap in straight away and they were both very very good laps. Good Job Hamilton & congratulations on your 80th pole position! - Ferrari... who was doing their strategy? They messed up with inital strategy and messed up on their hotlaps. P4 and P9! - Toro Rosso, again they nailed their lap when they needed to and read the weather perfectly. A great result for Honda getting 6th and 7th! - Force India were just a little bit too slow with their laps. I think Perez made a mistake on his lap but Ocon had basically the same time as the Toro Rossos - Verstappen, lucky to steal 3rd place!

I felt for him big time with that one. The sooner he gets the fuck out of RB the better. He's had a run no Q3s for him of late. He blew out his vocal chords, was all hoarse in the post Q interviews.

I hope Hamilton repays Bottas for last week. With Vettel starting so far back, I think they'd be able to execute a very easy switch of position. Bottas deserves the win he was denied. It doesn't have to come from the team and I wouldn't put it past Hamilton to take it upon himself to let Bottas through.

It doesn't have to come from the team and I wouldn't put it past Hamilton to take it upon himself to let Bottas through. I want him to do that but I also think it's too risky. Chances are Vettel will get back up to 3rd place in the race and it only takes 2 DNFs for Hamilton to suddenly only be leading by like 10 points...

I think it would be foolish to gift a win back to Bottas before the championship is sewn up. But once it is, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Lewis did that. It certainly crossed my mind that he might. He was uncomfortable being gifted the win even thigh he realised it was the right thing. He didn’t like it. I think he’ll redress, just not this weekend.

streamable.com/nhfhcGenius... so tactical! That is what make a champion a real champion! Guess Vettel & Raikkonen need to learn some things from Hamilton

- Hamilton was Sunday driving from lap 1... - Bottas was Sunday driving from lap 1... - Verstappen, I've got to say it was 100% his error with the Raikkonen incident. - Ricciardo, great recovery drive. He did well to only be a few seconds behind 3rd place. Deserved DOTD. - Raikkonen, not fast enough but was unlucky with Verstappen. - Vettel... lol. I am lost for words. - Perez, very good drive, the Force India was a solid car this week. - Grosjean, a very good drive with a different tyre strategy. - Ocon, a very good recovery drive after the penalty.

I am just so glad Leclerc is coming to Ferrari next year. I'll have someone who has some sanity in him to support. Vettel says he doeesn't need a mental coach or whatever to keep his cool. But let's be honest, it would be for the best for him. But thanks for the shitty birthday present, Seb. I honestly hope 2019 becomes 2014 for him until he learns to keep his cool and not be stupid.

Oooh, the rest of the season could be tasty! If Hamilton finishes P1 at COTA and Vettel finishes 3rd or lower then Hamilton will be crowned the WDC. If Bottas finishes 2nd at COTA and then wins the remaining 3 races he would finish the season with 300 points. If Vettel was to finish 3rd for the last 4 races of the season he would finish with 324 points... A DNF on Vettels side would mean he would have 309 points and there is always a chance for things to go wrong... he'll Hamilton could very easily have a bit of fun and purposely slow Vettel up to get others ahead! I would love to see that happen as unlikely as it is.

What were the stewards on today? Some very inconsistant decisions. How did Vettel not get a penalty? Why was Alonso penalised when he’d been forced off the track? No penalt for Ericsson for rear ending a car? There was another one too. Not wanting to see loads of penalties, just some consistency!! Vettel has fallen apart, poor judgement again. His start was very good, then he threw it all away. Great drives from the Red Bull boys. Danny getting all the shit but still putting in performances. I’m sure Perez crept sneakily up under the VCR enabling him to take Grosjean! Without that I’d have had 6 correct in the pool this week! Great drive from Lewis. He LOVES this place. Okay, now it’s time to hit the beach! 😁🦀🐠🐳🐙🐬🦐🐡🌊🌟🏊🏼♀️

I thinl LeClerc is going to be the real deal. He's pulling that Sauber into a place it's got no business in, although they've made improvements. He along with Gasley are my stars of the future pick. Verstappen, I think he's going to burn out. Super talent but at this point in his career just no ability to think ahead. Thankfully (or unfortunately) for him he's lucky and come out unscathed more often than not. These events could just as easily go against him.

I’m with you on that Wß, regarding Leclerc and Gasly. I love those two drivers! Leclerc will be a breath of fresh air at Ferrari. I disagree about Verstappen, I think he’s absolutely a future world champion and Lewis’ biggest future threat. But exciting times ahead either way, something to look forward to.

I hope you're right about him. I'm not at all calling his driving into question. I think he's got an uncanny ability to put the car in just the right place. Alonso can do that, Hamilton can do that, a lot of drivers can't. It's whether or not he matures into the driver he needs to be.
