Was over at Tech Tactics last Saturday, it's a program run by the Porsche Club of America. I happen to have the Porsche parts distribution and dealer training center for the eastern part of North America about an hour away. Every year they host a weekend for the Porsche Club of America where they have guest speakers, technical demos etc. Last year they introduced the Macan, this year they had this on display. This is "Meredith" Meredith did a 2.2 second 0 to 60 time for Car and Driver testing out in California. They had her naked and waiting for us to take pictures. Lots of old white guys The engine cover reportedly costs the same as buying two new 911 S models. It is fashioned from on piece of laser cut steel. Meredith has a lot of active aero pieces, the rear diffuser add about 1500 lbs of downforce to the chassis when active. The instant classic upward facing exhaust. Very low center of gravity, the engine is way down there. Carbon fiber chassis and of course with a carbon fiber chassis you need dedicated ground busses. Rear MGH-K and motor Rear suspension for 4 wheel steering Mammoth ceramic rear brakes Front electric motor And a pretty flat undercarriage to maximize that aero effect for the diffuser. All that and a bag of goodies to boot. Oh, there was a GT3 and the new Club Sport but... they tended to take a back seat in the current company.

Even if I could scrape together the two million, (they're all sold and dealers are flipping them for twice their value) it's not me.

All the gear and no idea.
As women always say to me. It's not the size it is what you do with it.

Did you catch the part about being able to buy two of the yellow ones for the cost of the engine cover on the 918?

Cute, looks like it may be based on the very successful 500 platform. They'll sell a lot of these stateside, and it's very brave of them to go after the Mazda market.

Another update, primed sanded and ready to go. Hoping there's plenty of time to spare still to go before the ultimate Porsche event at the Hershey swap meet. Deck lid done and ready to go, third brake light holes disappeared! Front valance smooth as a baby's bottom, a la Club Sport. Fully primed... Fully sanded and in the paint booth!

I get my car back this week. It's not finished finished but when is a project like that ever truly done? In the mean time I installed a headliner while the glass was out... Interesting learning experience indeed. But I was really happy with the results.
