Okay, it's a lot of work to set up a car. I bought H&R sport springs and Koni shocks, that should tighten up the ride quite a bit and lowers it about 1.5 inches. Mercedes feel... well, they feel like a middle aged well to do business man who should work out more often. Not me so I had to tighten the ride a bit. Issues with the other AMG wheels so I opted for these instead, they're light and they say AMG on them. On the 16" wheels that were on the car I put Bridgestone Blizzaks on them... you know for us folks that get S.N.O.W. Not that you'd know what that's all about. On the 17" AMG rims, I'm going with a middle or the road 3 season performance tire. I didn't want to go extreme performance crazy on the rubber like I have on the Porsche, it's nice to get a decent tire for $110 bucks instead of $275. They're big and staggered with 225/45 in the front and 245/40 in the rear. I bought everything I need for a major service, rotors, pads, tranny fluid and filter, new bushings and tie rods etc, just to tighten things up back to factory fresh. There's really nothing that you can do to these engines on the performance front, so I just will focus on getting it running smooth, efficiently and just breathing a little better and leaving it at that. It's for cruising not for zero to sixty times. It's still not bad as is. You falling behind Hammer in a big way.

I was moving cars around in the driveway when this photo opp occurred. Hopefully some inspiration for your project Hammer, but I like the fact that you're pushing more on your business than you are on getting your ride moving. A man with ambitions! Stereo 3/4 of the way done. I haven't done a car stereo in literally 20 years... a lot has happened since then. The MB steering wheel controls wired up a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX is nice. Working on cleaning up wiring still, but got a subwoofer installed and properly installed the rear speakers. Still to replace the stock MB midrange and woofer drivers in the doors. I bought Peerless speakers and custom mounted them into the MB speaker brackets. Stereo will be finished this weekend. Also need to install motor and transmission mounts, apparently these cars had hydrolic motor mounts which tend to begin to fail around 70k miles and mine have. Getting those replaced is a Friday night project.

That's a cool pic. Two icons of two great brands in 1. And you seem to be living in the kinda place I hope to have one day. I'm sick of buildings and pollution all the time.
And yeah....it might seem like my car project isn't moving, because at the moment it isn't. I called the guy today asking if there's any donors and he's like 'I assure you we have runners looking high and low in japan but your model is getting a bit obsolete. But for sure we will run across a good specimen' And he added 3-4 years ago these cars were "EVERYWHERE" ok, well I don't need to hear all this, I need a result!.....so I'm just playing the waiting game in the car department. He came across two units so far but very high mileage.

It's beautiful, but... I spend a lot of time raking leaves.

Not a bad eBay find... missed it though, might as well since the half million could have presented an issue. 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Toyota purchases a 5% stake in Mazda. Note the part about the joint venture being a push for electric vehicles. I'm having some thoughts that I'm putting down to paper on the whole of the electric thing. Stay tuned.

This weekend I'm heading over to a guy's house, he's got a phenomenal car collection, very rare vehicles, one of which is this: This is the only Porsche 901 prototype left in existence. The 901 was the car that Porsche renamed the 911 after Peugeot balked at the naming convention as they apparently had branding right to 3 digit numbers with a 0 as the middle digit. Go figure. Anyway, this car has been certified by Porsche after initially being refused recognition them thinking is was a California job someone had put together. An old engineer was able to confirm things like the sunroof sliding forward instead of backwards because they hadn't engineered the right mechanicals for the car yet. Will take pictures.
