I'm just curious, I know loads of people handle stress is many different ways.
So basically do you know of any interesting ways to handle stress and frustration and more so how do you handle it?
Also, how do you know of you're stressed and do others easily notice you're stressed?

If others are telling you that you're stressed, then you are. Introspective is very difficult when you're frazzled, you may also want to see a doctor, many people could benefit from mild antidepressants. You can even go over the counter, St. John Wort to see if it helps you. Also vitamin D deficiencies have been shown to have an impact mood. Watch this.

My normal thing when I am stressed is get some drinking mates I trust. (I will only have more than a few pints with people I trust around me) get hooped and have a drunken rant. My mates and I normally get together every 6 months or so for a "decompressing event" unless one of us calls an EGM.

Interesting, so your method is to get a bit drunk to relax you and open your mind so you can rant to let it out. That seems to be a fairly common way. If others are telling you that you're stressed, then you are. Introspective is very difficult when you're frazzled, you may also want to see a doctor, many people could benefit from mild antidepressants. If so that's pretty cool! I love videos like that where they draw along with what they're talking about. I'm the sort of person who would rather get over illnesses (say for example a severe headache) without medication so in regards to mild antidepressants I wouldn't take them for stress. The reason I'm like that is because I'd rather build my immune system up and only take medication when I really need it. If you look at two of my family members if they have a headache they can't get rid of it with just 1 paracetamol what they take would literally knock me out or potentially kill me But how do you know when you're both stressed? No one spots stress in me, I know when I'm stressed (a lot) because I can feel it in my back, the tension is uncomfortable and I know if I was to go a masseuse they'd instantly mention how tense my back is. The only other way I know is I get more frustrated and my patience shortens.

I use escalation. If something goes bad, or taking too long for me to happen (Ie. closing a sales deal) I think of worse case scenarios and count my current blessings. That's step 1. Step 2 would be using a motivational tool (videos/quotes/anything which motivates only you) to see the latest problem as a challenge and create an action plan to overcome the challenge. Step 3 would be the action. I learnt quite a bit from a mentor in my business, the guy is amazing... and he's changed the way I face almost any problem today. When you break it down, any problem which has a solution no longer stays a problem. Even the worst problems are healed with time. So in reality, there are no problems. Life immediately becomes manageable when I deal with it this way.

It is not the just getting drunk it is the getting drunk with people you trust I'd do this except it's not easy to get together now, certainly not as easy as it was years ago. Distance and responsibilities.

My wife, my daughter would tell me. I was easily angered. I overacted to things or was easily triggered by innocuous things. The thing with stress, at least of them is that it was suddenly released in an explosion, no stress valve. It's been a long process and I've been at the reduction of it for a couple of years now but the meditation has helped me quite a bit.
I think it's not for everyone, it's something that you have to 1) practice regularly and 2)be open to it

Hammer your technique sounds so practical. It's probably the opposite to what I do. When I get stressed about something I don't deal with it, I put my head in the sand and hope it will go away, but it doesn't, it's always on my mind. When I wake up theres a heavy feeling and I remember straight away the stressful thing. And I feel like crying. But I don't often cry. Mild stress, a decent bottle of wine and a good friend.

Yep I know this is not the right thread, however I am mega pissed off (and it includes some people on Facebook so can not have a rant on there) I have put a lot of time and effort into a project and have just heard that some people have been unappreciated of work done..... well fuck them!

Are they important people to the project? People who have a say? Have they made an effort? If not, then yes fuck them.

Ahhh I know that feeling, you know you could post with them filtered so they can't see it?
Pissed off is good enough for this thread, very similar. I'm sure you've done a great job with whatever it is, it is infuriating when someone doesn't appreciate your hard work.
My direct family think I don't bite my tongue and hold it back... They try to say that I don't think before I speak/moan/rant/get mad.... But I really do hold my tongue, if they knew my real thoughts, feelings and anger at times they'd be shocked.
There's a LOT going on in my head with thoughts, feelings and stuff I know many other people would explode with it all.
I let out maybe 5% of everything, the rest is pent up inside, not really a good thing to do but it's all I can do atm.

It's far easier to tear down than to build up. So if they're not willing to be part of a solution or the build up process, then I think the fuck'em sentiment is well deserved.

Well it all came to ahead today l. I have told them to all go fuck themselves. I was getting very little, if anything out of it so why should I have to deal with the massive amount of shit it was causing me.
Time to re prioritise and move on.
