Think Hamilton did a class act at the very end. He is in a fight with Vettel for the title, he stated he'd let Bottas pass if he couldn't pass Kimi and did that at the very final corner, sacrificing some points that could prove crucial. Massive respect to Lew.

Bottas should take the bottle down to Hamilton

I imagine the pre-podium conversation went something like:
Vettel: What happened to Lewis? I thought he was 3rd? Bottas: We had an agreement, I let him pass and if he couldn't get by Kimi, he'd give the spot back. Vettel: yeah, but nobody really gives it back.. so what happened? Bottas: no, he slowed and let me by on the last corner. Vettel: bwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.. REALLY? Hahahahahahahahaha.... Kimi: *stares intently*

I don't know why Ferrari are being criticized for not switching positions....Vettel is in a tight race for the Championship, Kimi decides to wake up for 1 race and has to be let through? Doesn't make sense...if I were Ferrari I'd tell him to shut his trap and keep the Mercs away from their Championship contender.

Ferrari 100% did the RIGHT thing for the WDC and WCC, I'm not disputing that. I just would prefer to see them allowed to race properly. And, I feel sorry for Kimi.

To be clear, with the rose tinted glasses fanboyz on the interwebz... Ferrari and Mercedes are playing two difference games. No blame on anyone, but I do expect nothing but crickets forever more with the claims that Hamilton is given preference by his team just as much as Vettel is given by Ferrari. Otherwise you'll just simply look like an ass. It was an understeer issue with Vettel and the more the track rubbered in and the balance of the car changed with the fuel load, the more the car came back to to him not enough to build a gap but enough make Ferrari know he could limp it home. Kimi was subsequently leashed and didn't eve make the attempt just the gesticulations. Hamilton would have overtaken Vettel with their pace they would have forced him making an error.

LOL just saw this on an article...post race exchange between Hulk and Mag;
After the race, Hulkenberg confronted Magnussen about the incident in the TV media pen, leading to the following exchange.
Hulkenberg: "Once again, the most unsporting driver of the grid."
Magnussen: "Suck my balls, man."
Hulkenberg: "You did a really good job."
Magnussen went on to finish 11th, just outside of the points, while Hulkenberg was forced into retirement on the penultimate lap.

There are number one drivers by contract and there are number one drivers by action. Lewis gained a lot of collateral today with that move, an "investment" if you will.

I like how Anthony just nods. 'That's my boy! ' . His integrity is important to his dad. I remember him being incensed when the team asked him to lie that time, over the mix up behind the safety car. Anthony was ready to quit the lot over that.

It is just me or is Toto some kind of man child? What sort of reaction is that, the guy acts like some teenage rock star wannabe. You would've thought Hamilton just took the lead from Vettel. It's like he's trying to look cool and passionate at the slightest opportunity, grow up for fucks sake.
And look at Lauda, even he's surprised by that retarded reaction.

I wondered if Lauda disagreed with the swap back? Can't really explain Toto's reaction, other than it was a well executed move that didn't allow Verstappen to sneak through as well, he was very close to Valteri near the end and Lewis was quite a way ahead...so there was risk involved.

I believe when the pressure is high, you need to release sometimes. But it is more due to the personality of the people. Some people are calm like Lauda and control their emotions (Well If I was old I would not react like Toto also for one particular reason). Some act like Toto and that become a habit with time or their way to release the pressure.

I don't know, for me if a person in that position reacts in that way they really don't have a level head or an approach which begets a team boss. I've noticed people in power who do the best job are the calmest heads out there no matter what. Typical personalities which come to mind in F1 are Todt, Brawn, maybe even Ron Dennis. Horner is another. Toto looks more like a high school cheerleader next to these personalities.
