I got new shoes. Well I'm in Spain ( sort of) so what can you do ) Three pairs. One was only flip flops for indoors. One was heals! not done heals in a while. And the other pair was like Birkenstocks . Really comfy, just like Birkenstocks but only €21 instead of about £80 plus. But there's one problem. The left one makes a farting noise when I walk. Like that noise you can make when you cup your hand under your arm pit and move it in and out. Do you know the one? So they're best worn in noisy places.

Last week I dropped my watch on the tiled floor. Thought I'd just broken the glass but it's stopped. It wasn't an expensive one, just functional. Can't be doing with expensive watches. I just want one that does the job and is on my wrist all the time, and is ok if I forget to take it off for swimming or showering. And doesn't have a zillion buttons that all do different things. Anyway....I have always hankered after a yellow ICE watch. They're chunky. Actually so chunky they cover my whole wrist. But I found an amazing yellow ice watch yesterday, not so chunky. Only one button!!! Perfect! Yellow! perfect! pink hands! Perfect! Can go in water! Perfect! Feels really nice. Here it is...

Back to Blighty tomorrow. There was a big storm , a wind one, last night.,patio furniture and umbrellas flying about. Someone said it was the tail end of a hurricane. Massive waves in the sea as well, crashing over the harbour wall. Calmer today.

it's probably a shorter thread if you just let us know when you're home than on holiday.

Like you said, very simple, only 1 button. Kimi will surely "know what he's doing" with that watch.

I'm off this morning to Whitby for a few days. Going today, then tomorrow walking from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay for lunch ( fish and chips ), then on to Ravenscar. About twelve miles in all. Then Friday back home. It's not really a holiday, it's too short. Just a little break.

Lots of good fish and chips in Whitby, I think the Magpie cafe is probably my favourite lots of choices, just beware of the seagulls on the pier if you choose a takeaway ! The walk from whitby to robin hood is very pleasant, although you're coming a week early, the goth festival has some rare sights to be seen !

It was a great walk Ichabod. Ended up about 14 miles I think then bus back to Whitby. Would love to try your Magpie cafe but I think I need a pub!! Also not really appropriate clothes for sitting outside with the seagulls! I do like seagulls though . Even though they're naughty. The Goths are in evidence. Everything is ramping up for Halloween!

Found the Magpie cafe this morning. CAFÉ!??! I thought you meant the archetypal British seaside cafe, with Formica table, chip butties and a mug of tea or coffee! But excellent fish. This place looked like a really good scrummy fish restaurant!! Mouth watering menu! Wish I'd gone there now!! Next time.

My next short break is going to be AMAZING!! it's 6th/ 7th / 8th of November. It's just me and Nikki ( ok, Nikki and I) it's my combined birthday and xmas present from her to me. This is the itinery Friday morning she picks me up about 6 am and we drive to Bath. We spend most of the day round Bath and early afternoon we go to a posh place for afternoon tea. It has fancy sandwiches and cakes and three different sorts of champagne! At 5pm we go to a Spa. We're in there for five hours during which time we have a massage and a two course meal. The swimming pool s up on the roof and overlooks Bath. We stay in a hotel in the centre of Bath so no driving or taxis required. Next day, Saturday, we spend all day round Bath Christmas shopping and General shopping. ( there's a shop that makes boots exactly to your size. Calf width, leg length, everything. And you choose the colour leather. Yellow boots!!!! That evening we have a meal booked at Loch Finnes. Sunday we drive back through the Cotswalds stopping on the way for lunch. HOW GOOD IS THAT!!!!

Today is the second day of the above mentioned weekend and Im chilling on the bed after An exhausting day shopping. Between us (Nikki andi) have just struggled Up the hill with 14 bags, and bags stuffed insude the bags too. We don't seem to gave made a great impression on the Christmas present list but have lots of nice things. Yesterday we had the champagne afternoon tea at Royal , Crescent...very posh. Then we went to the Spa, couldn't take photos in Spa because I didn't take the phone in bt I have a picture off the website. The rooftop pool in dark was brill, but much more crowded than in the picture. We had a full body massage last night too then were too tired and chilled to do anything else so we went back to hotel. After we've showers we're going out tonight for cocktails anD and Italian meal ( we changed from Lovh Finnes because we saw a place that looked nicer)

I'm in Wales now. There's been lots of ' weather' . But there always is in Wales because it's in the mountains. Also we've had storm Barney.....I think that's his name. So strong winds and rain. The other day the electric went off. This morning there was hail. The winds a bit calmer now. Here's a few pics of the river. Two rivers meet at Beddgelert and when it's raining they fill quickly because ofdraining down the mountains.

To show how quickly the weather changes here. The following pics are from my cottage , first one taken from inside because it was blowing a gale. Other two from the front door. And they were all taken within a few hours of each other. In the second one the sky was actually bright blue( it looks a bit grey coz was taken with phone not camera) .
