Lets have a minutes silence for the latest F1 casualty as its tombstone is engraved with the epithet - 'At least we got paid the record wage bill in F1'

So lets get this in right order -
Ron had young Lewis + Button + major sponsors + Mercedes engine deal and a wage bill of 30mill he couldnt afford
and now has old Alonso + Button + minor sponsors + Honda engine deal and a wage bill of 50mill that he has no choice but to pay
And Ron turned down a major sponsor because 40 mill wasnt enough, and now is signing up mickey mouse sponsors who insist on WDC drivers for their money
talk about losing a pound and finding a penny

13 mill is a bit much I would have thought. If I seen Button at my Poker table, I would get up and go to another table.

If this is true, it would explain a lot. It would also be possible that Van Doorne drives from the second race of 2016, because unlike some Alonso has fierce pride and self worth and will not be backing down, as Ron full well knows. A guy willing to leave the best team to go to Renault in 2008 out of pride aint likely to be suddenly spineless

Think of the story he's telling his chums!
"Gaddamn we were winning races and podiums with me, and then that old fart took over".

That's excellent! I don't think Ive ever read a bad article by Will. And they always take a different stance, make you think.

He takes time to research what he says, and then puts forward a compelling argument in story form. A refreshing difference to the one line bandits and one trick ponies like thejudge18, one doesnt even have to agree with a lot of his ideas to appreciate them and learn things

McLaren is now looking at that 2013 season, the worst they'd seen in 33 years and saying... hey maybe it wasn't so bad after all.
Let's all remain confident in Jenson's car development prowess, if Alonso walks after another disappointing season next year, Jenson will once again be in charge of bringing the team back to the forefront.

Oh dear. Prodromou is listening to Jenson. That's it then . Doomed.

Prodromou is being groomed for the steak dinner club by Mclarens record breaking driver who will break the record for tying up a McLaren seat the longest, he will also smash the 300 gp barrier soon, he has already slaughtered the McLaren record of longest spell without standing on the podium, and of course the biggest one of all, the most consecutive races without a win in the teams entire history. And lets not forget the worst WCC position in 35 years - 9th, although he has a chance to batter that one next year and lead the team to 10th place BUT only if there are more than 9 teams next year - so that one might slip away
Something happened to the team between 2008 when the team won a WDC and 2012 after which the team has only won a podium
I still wonder why Honda said the chassis was complete crap this year, oh well history doesnt always repeat

Yes Jenson, the team really listened to your feedback in the past, and that may be why Alonso is the lead on new parts

That isn't their best, their best is Hungary this year.
Also, where are you seeing Alonso as 10th? Mine shows him 11th.
Last 5 races:
Japan: None of the top 10 worthy cars DNF (0 cars) Alonso 11th, Button 16th
Singapore: Lewis, Massa DNF (2 cars) Alonso DNF, Button DNF
Italy: Rosberg, Grosjean, Maldonado DNF (3 cars) Alonso 18th, Button 14th
Belgium: Sainz, Ricciardo, Maldonado and Hulkenburg DNF (4 cars) Alonso 13th, Jenson 14th
Hungary: Sainz, Raikkonen, Perez, Hulkenburg DNf (4 cars) Alonso 5th, Button 9th
Now look at
Russia: Ricciardo, Sainz, Grosjean, Rosberg, Hulkenburg (5 cars) & also Ricciardo & Bottas (last lap) and to an extent Verstappen on lap 1. That's a total of 7 or 8 removed cars, so that explains why their result is good ^_^
