I can't be the only one surely who thinks he looks rather handsome (if that's the right word/phrasing) sure he looks confident which could come across cocky but he looks rather stylish, unique and isn't doing what pleases others, he's doing what pleases himself which is a good thing!

McLaren were under the impression that sponsors wanted drivers that appeal to old disturbed guys, Lewis now is the complete opposite of that, yet has pushed the disturbed Rolex wearers to the kerb and has sponsors clamouring for his crowd - rappers, metrosexuals, Heat magazine, fashionistas, creatives, liberals, commies, charities (ok maybe getting carried away a bit there)
Whilst McLaren are still trying to flog a dead lame horse thats actually a duck to sponsors who dont exist

So he's getting out before he's kicked out. Probably a good move.

Make room, he's not adding anything to the team at the moment. There's too much talent in the pipeline sitting by the sidelines because of no longer competitive drivers of a certain age.
EDIT: that's unfair to some older drivers like Alonso. I should say drivers that are no longer at the top of their game.

More like drivers who have hardly ever been at the top of their game - journeymen but making the same mistakes a rookie would make, so why not have the rookie for 1/16th of the wage? and for 1/10 of the snidey radio moaning
I mean, this is the best that can be said for Button?
Wow, what a record breaker!!!

6 of those came in 2009. 8 wins in 6 years for Mclaren, it's time to do the dignified thing, he would have been better off walking away last year.

Its the end of a McLaren era. All great teams have great drivers that define the era. We have Lewis at Merc in the hybrid era, Seb at RBR in the blown era, Alonso at Ferrari in the Montezemolo era,
and of course Button at McLaren in the 'record breaking' era, after Lewis left this McLaren era was really defined by Button - Tooned, the Santander ads, the 'embracing' shampoo adds, the glorious Spa pole position, the minimalist art car styling, uncluttered by sponsor logos, the mighty Honda reunification with 'big in Japan' Button resurrecting their last glorious partnership
It could even be little things that the era is remembered for - that famous 'no grip' mantra perhaps, or maybe even the interesting radio messages about the rookie Perez
Maybe Button can remain an ambassador for McLaren now and revive Tooned, maybe coach the younger drivers or become a Niki Lauda style presence in the McLaren paddock

I think so too, but I feel for Mags who could have established himself by now were it not for having to accomodate Button.

During the singapore GP coverage (BBC feed), Coulthard was talking about that the Honda is a bit of a thirsty engine. So lets get this straight, firstly its under powered, secondly its unreliable and then thirdly its thirsty on fuel. You have got to be kidding me Honda.

Those Mclaren Honda ads they show in ad breaks during races here in Aus with the famous red and white Marlboro Mclaren and the current piece of crap Mclaren and then saying "A legendary partnership has reform" or something like that is not working for them. As soon as you come out of that ad, next minute there pushing Alonso or Button back into the garage with a terminal issue. I think that's just hilarious and sad at the same time.

New sponsor for McLaren However the sponsorship comes not in the form of cash, but of champagne bottles for the podium ceremony. Analysts are amazed with the cleverness of this deal, which could mean Chandon dont actually pay at all for the next few years at least

Analysts are amazed with the cleverness of this deal, which could mean Chandon dont actually pay at all for the next few years at least is this true cookie or you're just having your usual fun with them? if it's true, do you have a source. I mean the first thought I had when I read it is why? Mum is the podium champagne, so unless they get that it's always going to be a second fiddle...
