Tesla is now the most valued American car company. I never understood the Wall St. fascination with growth potential when so many of that expected potential tends to fall flat but I guess when there's enough money to be speculative, it doesn't matter if you take a bath every now and then. I think Electric is not the future of the automobile, but what the hell do I know. I'm gay for Elon Musk. Read his book and watched countless interviews, he's done the impossible time and time and time again and trumped all his nayasayers, bankrupting all those shortsellers of his companies.

Being enlightened is seeing clearly, you've given up on your Muslim religion, you have your point of view, however you've also decided that other "religions" are also flawed. You've obviously considered the points of views of others. Looking at the world from a perspective outside of your own is enlightenment.
Some go their entire life without taking that first step.

It's so hard for me to take the first step, as i grew up in a religious family. I still feel empty without Islam but looking at other Muslims, i see how I'm not compatible with them. My family are open minded people but we have conflicts sometimes, i do believe religion affects them in some way. Also, i sometimes wish Turks never came across to other Muslim and got their religion and culture. I am a proud Turkish because of open minded people like myself and Atatürk, who preached Islam at time but was secular. Also I'm ashamed to be Turkish because of bigots. I will never see myself as a part of those people, I see myself as an Eastern European woman from Turkey

Agree with you completely about religions Elfinitty. They breed intolerance not tolerance and are responsible for so much hate and killing and wars. To me they are stories used hundreds and hundreds of years ago to give a sense of morality and a code to live by. But life has moved on, they are no longer relevant or a necessary part of our life. Yet people cling to them, and take them word for word. If only all countries were secular! Hope things aren't too bad for you in Turkey.

I cannot tolerate their intolerance. I still believe in God but religions eh ıdk Things are bad for me in Turkey because I can't with bigots. If the elections this week will result in as yes, I will cry my eyes out that night for sure then I will start looking for masters abroad and also to the country that gives citizenship the easiest!

It will indeed be a sad day for Turkey if Erdogan gets the powers he seeks. We're hearing that it will be very close. He is undoing all the good that Attaturk did and all the safeguards he put in place. I do hope things change. Tourism in Turkey must be badly affected?

YES! If you decide to go to school in the US, here in Pennsylvania, We'd be more than happy to host you. Now if you decide to go to school in the UK, then there's a lot of folks on this forum that you might touch base with.

Indeed racechick that's why I'm so scared because it might not even be that secular if he gets the powers he wishes to. It's really close so far and they're indeed scared of losing this. I hope we will be happy this time. Tourism is horribly affected since he threatens the world all the time and thanks to terrorism and coup. In 2015 I went to a hotel and there were many Russian and German tourists, in 2016 the same place was covered with only turks . Also I think I wanna do master's in either maths or sociology
Wb thanks for being kind, I haven't decided where yet but so nice of you
Hammer, I know, sadly

I will be embarrassed for my country if this turns out to be what I fear given the details or lack thereof.

I will be embarrassed for my country if this turns out to be what I fear given the details or lack thereof. I can't read the NY Times article but thee BBC are reporting it, the only bit of information about the death is, "Judge Abdus-Salaam's family identified her and a post-mortem examination will determine the cause of death, New York police say. The body was fully clothed and showed no signs of trauma, they added." That still leaves it pretty open for accident, suicide or murder, all three are depressing situations. BBC

I don't think an accident is one where you wind up floating face down on the Hudson River. Murder, Suicide or Assassination.
